Ah, the fish slapping dance. That would sure have made the show interesting - in a silly British comedy sort of way.
Author's Response: Not to mention the potential for silliness if Buffy started dropping 16 ton weights on demons. I mean, she already attacks them with pointed sticks. Thanks! |

This is awesome! I can't speak for others, but I find it far from offensive (of course I'm agnostic/atheist depending on the day of the week, so I guess that's to be expected). Anyway, I love the "Don't use your own name in vain. It's tacky" line and the "it seemed like a good idea at the time" bit. Very funny.

God, playing video game's with the world, there's something very Sam Kinison about this, any I loved it. And it was strange that she said nothing solid, when she's been using crosses for years. Keep it up.
Author's Response: Thanks! Actually, part of the inspiration was a rant by a comic who was around at the same time as Kinison, named Bill Hicks... he had a very funny bit about Jesus refusing to go back to Earth as long as everyone was wearing crosses. "You think when Jesus gets back, he's gonna want to see a cross? It's like walking up to Jackie Kennedy with a rifle pendant on!" |

I don't think it is at all offensive and its very humorous... Cartoons such as family guy and South Park have Jesus characters like this... You capatilize and the You's and We's in the dialogue which some people wouldn't remember to do... But anways i like it... very good short story
Author's Response: I know, I don't find it offensive either, but some believers seem to take offense to anything involving Jesus, so I just thought I'd cover my ass... :-) "South Park" is indeed an inspiration for this. I love the idea of Jesus as a whiny teenager going "DAAAAD!" |

Heh, heh, heh. Quite amusing. Not terribly offensive (I'm hard to offend). "I always thought they'd use a fish as my symbol..." lol. Well integrated ficlet. I hope your disclaimer works properly.
Author's Response: Thanks! It struck me after I posted this that if they had used a fish, Buffy would be running around slapping vampires with fish à la Monty Python. |
