Summary: Please note that this story is not yet finished and I have many more chapters on the way.

Here is a general outline of what the story is about: Xander joins Buffy on patrol one night and is slightly injured by a demon. He recovers quickly - almost too quickly - and is shocked when he suddenly acquires mysterious strength that rivals even Buffy's. He is elated that he finally possesses "something that he can contribute to the Gang", but as time passes by it is obvious that this newfound power is a result of some sort of evil - and it quickly begins to claim his life. While Xander is in denial and believes that the Gang is just jealous because he now "has something", the rest of the Scoobies begin to work on saving their friend before he succumbs to the evil of his new powers.

The Price of Power, Chapter One: Giles prepares Buffy to fight a rare demon she has encountered on patrol. Xander shows up and is roped into joining Buffy as she goes out on her hunt.
