At the Bronze
“All I’m saying is I wish they wouldn’t” Xander said looking disgustingly at the dance floor.
“ Oh I think it’s cute, and your just jealous!” Willow answered grinning at Xander, who was still glaring at Angel and Buffy kissing in front of the stage. “My point is that if they have to….you know……can’t it be somewhere you know private?” He asked finally turning back to face Willow.
“Well they are officially a couple now, they have a right to smooch.” Willow added beginning to get annoyed. “Yes but not in front of me!” Xander said his voice raising a little. Willow smirked, “Would you rather they did it in a closet like you and Cordy?” Buffy and Angel started to walk back to the table Willow and Xander were sitting at. “ Hey guys miss me?” Xander immediately stopped talking and blushed a most unflattering shade of red, “Yep, definitely, you were all the way over there and we were not looking at you at all so it was like you were miles away. Drink?” he asked trying to stop all the blood rushing to his head. “Medium cappuccino with whipped cream, thanks.” She replied with a smile. Xander got up and went to the bar to order her drink and Buffy sat in the seat that he had vacated and Angel came and stood behind her. “So back to school tomorrow huh, bet your excited Willow?” Angel said. “Yep, the smell of new books at the beginning of the semester mmmmmmmm.” She chuckled. Her smile widened as Oz wandered over to the table, “I heard there was a new girl.” he added obviously overhearing the conversation. “Yeah think she’s from England” Buffy added, “ Giles and her will get along nicely then, maybe they can talk about tea!” They all laughed. Then Buffy’s face fell, “What time is it?” Willow glanced at her watch, the tweety pie one that Xander had bought her for Christmas, “9:30 why?” Willow asked. “I told Giles I’d patrol.” she sighed. “ I’ll come with you if you want? I need some fresh air.” Angel whispered not realising that Xander was listening. “ You don’t breathe, dead boy!” Angel gave Xander a punch on the arm before him and Buffy walked out of the Bronze.
The Cemetery
“I bet that by tomorrow Giles has found a new big bad for us to defeat , it’s not fair can’t I just not save the world for like the thousandth time!” Buffy sighed, “Can’t the world just stay saved!” As if on cue they were attacked from behind. “Ok, that was rude. We were talking!” she yelled. The vamp was soon dusted and they went back to their conversation, “As I was saying….” she stopped talking as Angel pulled her close for a passionate kiss. He pulled away and smiled at her. “As you were saying what?” he asked. Buffy just shrugged, “I don’t know, It’s just don’t you sometimes feel that it’s all pointless. I mean if we didn’t patrol every night would it actually make any difference?” Angel smiled, “Ask Giles for a few nights off a week? I’m sure he would understand.” This made Buffy laugh a little,
‘yeah right’ she thought but she didn’t say anything out loud. She just smiled and turned to continue with the patrol, which, it turned out, was unfruitful. So when she returned home it was still early, well early for her anyways. But she was welcome to the early night and settled down to sleep.
Next Day in the Summers House
Beep Beep Beep Be………..
Buffy rolled over and smacked the alarm clock by the side of her bed. Why did she buy that thing anyways all it does is tell her it’s time to go to school and no one is ever happy to know that. She opened her closet to get changed and soon after that strolled down the stairs. And she was alarmed to see who was standing at the bottom to meet her. “Good morning Buffy” “GILES! You’re in my house. In the morning. Why are you here?” She suddenly imagined all kinds of scenarios that could have brought Giles to her house this early in the morning and she didn’t like any of them. “How did you sleep?” Giles asked in his Very annoying I’m so British look at me voice. Buffy just glared at him. “Good I’m glad that’s sorted. Now have your breakfast and we can get off.” “Already, school doesn’t start for another hour Giles!” she complained looking at her mom for support who had just walked into the hall with a steaming cup of coffee. “I need to talk to you about your patrolling. It would seem that you are being rather lacks in your work. I’ve been talking to Xander….” Buffy laughed, “Xander? Since when does anyone listen to Xander?” ‘Oh god what has he told him, oh no!’ she thought and tried to come up with as many excuses as she could on the spot. But none the less she ate her breakfast and was soon in the crapped out piece of machinery Giles calls a car. “Does this ‘car’ go any faster? Really Giles it’s enough that you bring me to school early but this is going too far!” Giles just looked at her and said “Well about the patrol last night…” “ whatever he said it’s not true, he is just so jealous of Angel, if he was any more jealous his head would explode!” She shouted. “He said you were with Angel and you weren’t slaying vampires in that way!” “Ok so we were kissing, does it really matter, no one died we are all fine and the world continues to turn. What’s the big?” she asked as they pulled up in front of the school to start an early morning training session.
