Visitation
Willow sat before something familiar- something dreadful that caused all of them pain.
She remembered how dear the name was to her, and she wished…she only wished..she could have it back.
“It’s strange, to think you’ve been gone only a year.. but it seems like forever..”
A single tear rolled down her cheek then, just from the thought.
She remembered the pain, when Warren’s bullet missed and hit Tara, instead of Buffy.
“It’s funny.. I sometimes wish that bullet didn’t miss Buffy.. so that you and I could still be together..
How selfish is that? That I wish my best friend could have died, just so you could have been safe. But..I know that you’re in some place better than this. That you’re gone, and no matter how hard I try, there’s no bringing you back.”
She remembered how she resurrected Buffy..but not Tara.
“And how selfish is it of me, to resurrect Buffy..and yet, you’re still there. Lying in the ground. I couldn’t even gather the courage to make the spell, Tara! What’s so wrong with me… that I couldn’t even try?”
Tears flowed freely now, and Willow, no matter how hard she tried, couldn’t hold them back.
“I’m so sorry…that I couldn’t stand in the way.”
