I got this idea after someone on a mailing list asked if anyone thought Oz might have heard Xander tell Willow he loved her. It's the first thing I've written that has something to do with BtVS. I would love some feedback no matter if it's good or bad.

Yet, you never heard the words he spoke

You stirred when he uttered his feelings
And my heart stopped until you whispered my name
But did you ask for me because you love me
Or is your heart still trained to ignore your true desire
Am I just the one you’re settling for
If you knew how he felt would you leave me behind
I’d ask if you still love him
But a part of me already knows the truth
Maybe that’s why I haven’t told you what I heard
Maybe it’s selfishness
Maybe I don’t want to lose the best part of my life
Or maybe it’s because I love you too
But would that matter to you
So I live in silent fear knowing what I know
That he loves you
