Disclaimer: I don't--wait, it's all coming back to me...yes, yes! Yes I *do* own them! My name is Joss, I'm really a man, and I'm totally kidding. You *better* know who they belong to!
Rating: PG-13 It's angsty and semi-gory
Note: This is Angel's POV (Point of View) and it's a tissue warning, people! It's depressing. VERY. I'm serious (for once) If you're sad already, DON'T read this!

I held her. I held her as she took her last breath, as she uttered her last words, I held her covered in her blood (so much blood from such a small body) I held her.
It had all started Friday night. I should have been on patrol with her. Instead, I was in the library waiting for her. And waiting. She came, eventually. And what an entrance! Her own stake embedded in her stomach. Her own *goddamn* stake!
She had, with much effort, made it to the library. Once inside, she caught my eye and said my name before collapsing to the ground. We all raced over to her, but it was too late. No ambulnce, or, or doctor could save her now. I could see the overwhelming fear in her eyes. So much fear, I wanted that stake to have found it's way into my heart, rather than her stomach. But, I had wanted that anyway.
Willow was sobbing loudly, and Buffy was talking to her in a sooting voice, despite her own urge to break out in sobs. I admired her so much for that. I had always admired her. From the moment she knocked me down on my ass, to now. One by one, they all said their goodbyes. I could tell she was in a lot of pain, but holding on. For them. For me. God, I loved her. There were hugs, kisses and more soothing words, mostly from her. Her strength amazed me. It always had, it always will.
Finally, it was my turn. She looked up at me an said the words that I will never, ever forget, even if I lived to be a thousand years old. She said, in a hoarse voice, "You are my light, even though I only see you in darkness. If heaven is all it's cracked up to be, I'll see you soon." With those words, the light in her eyes extinguished, she took her last breath-a small sigh-closed her eyes slowly, and died. And I held her. When was that sun coming up again?
