Author's Notes: I wrote this quite awhile ago (January the 27th the year 1900 and 99) It is supposed to be at Buffy and Angel's last meeting, before he leaves for L.A. Since the recent event's of "The Prom", I see that it will not go this way, but I think the poem is worth posting anways. enjoy, and, please send feedback! =)

‘Neath the moon in the sky,
‘Neath the stars in the sky,
He says to me
His final goodbye.
‘Neath the moon in the sky,
‘Neath the stars in the sky,
He pleads with me,
"Oh, please don’t cry!"
In that pale moonlight,
In that bright starlight,
He touches my face,
Oh so light.
The moon grins at us,
The stars leer at us,
They seem to laugh
At the misfortune
That has befallen us.
The moon looks down,
The stars do too,
As he tells me,
"I love you."
The moon sees me,
The stars see he,
As he whispers
These soft words to me,
"May the kisses I leave you with, last ‘till the ones I greet you with"
The moon does hear,
The stars do hear,
As I sniffle,
And shed a tear.
The moon glows with ethereal grace,
The stars burn in eternal space,
As my love wraps me
In his warm embrace.
The moon will glow for all of time,
The stars will burn for all of time,
I know this as he says to me,
One last time,
"Forever and always, my love."
The moon sinks away,
(Driven away by the light of day)
The stars fade away,
(Driven away by the light of day)
My love leaves me,
To go away,
Driven away by the morning light,
And I am left,
To cry in the shadows,
Of the fading night.
