I don't own any of the characters on BtVS. I wish I did, so I could fix a few things, but I don't. So I fix them through fanfic. But not this fanfic. THis one deals with how things are.
Author's Note: As said above, this poem deals with reality on the show. I wrote it right after watching "The Prom" (right after my tears had subsided) When reading this poem, if it doesn't make sense to you, sorry. It makes sense to me, and that's all that mattered when I was writing it. Interpret it your own way. Even if you don't see the sense it makes to me, it should make some kind of sense to you, even if it is different sense than my sense...er, um, just read the poem, k? The infinite, horrible, mind numbing silence masks all sounds of the world,
All I can hear is the slow painful tearing as my lonely heart rips in two.
The silence surrounds me, its horrible blackness smothers and drowns me,
The only sound breaking through is the forlorn ache of my heart, calling out for you.
That silence, that miserable silence, is keeping me locked away,
I fear my broken heart shall stop beating, because it beats only for you.
The horrible silence is all that I hear now, to your loving voice I will listen no more,
You said that I don’t need you, that I should not love you.
But oh, this deep black silence shrouding my soul and my heart,
More painful than anything you could ever say.
Even when my friends talk to me, the silence drives their comfort away,
My ears are open only to your voice, only your words can lift this dark veil.
Only you can save me from this miserable silence, and bring me back to the world,
But you have left me, in my best interest, you say, you will go away.
Now I can have a normal life, a perfect love, a white picket fence and a yard full of kids, you say,
Then, why, oh why, won’t my heart let me see it that way?
