Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Six
The Sun Will Never Rise by Benny
[Reviews - 3]

"Hey babe, ya aint scared of the night time, are you?" Jannet giggled as her and Dawn, walked along the midnight streets.

"P-lease! My sis practically lives in the night, I'm kinda used to it. All I said was I didn't like the darkness, not that I was scared," Dawn chattered away, rapid thouths burning through her mind of her sister, Buffy, now dead for six months.

"What ever babe - scaredy cat!" Janned manically howled with laughter as she leaped a few yards down the road to her house. "I'll see ya tomrrow then babe, remember the tequila!"

"Okay, but only if you stop calling me a scaredy cat. I am most definetly not scared!" Dawn waved to her friend as she entered her house.

Once alone, all the confident talk Dawn had said about not being scared, was gone. She was scared. The darkness bathed her in peril, and she knew exactly what lurked amongst danger. Her sister had told her everything she needed to know about Vampires, and how they'd kill anything with blood. That's all Dawn needed to know, and she was scared. The moon was hidden amongst a mist of clouds tonight. She sighed in, and sped up her pace. She heard trees rustle from around her, but there was quite a wind tonight, and a movement from the trees was normal. She gave a quick glance over her shoulder, but kept on walking.

Little did she know, that there was something there. Something she knew, or someone she knew. But that someone didn't want hugs and kisses, it wanted her dead.

Dawn wrapped her mercury silver scarf tighter around her neck, trying to capture as much warmth as possible. She something snap behind her. She turned like lightning, to face nothing but the shadows of cars, and trees. Her trembling heart, was to become the end of her. Maybe if she hadn't run, she might have survived. But the fear was too great. Her legs were sprinting before she could think, as fast as they could down the narrow lanes. But what wanted her, wasn't behind her.

She kept peering behind her, just on case. She darted through a alleyway. She burst through the park gate, and rushed on through. Her house wasn't more than 300 yards away now. She could call this home. She got to the xit of the park, panting and clutching her chest out of breath. Sweat was starting to stick on her neck, and she could feel her face going red and warm. She pushed the gate open, and found herself fall onto her knees. She stared up in disbelief. She shook her head, begging the figure to leave her alone.

"Please! Please don't do this! You don't want to do this! OH MY GOD! Please just go away! You can't be real! There is no way! Please no!!!" but all her beckoning cries were heard by someone who didn't care.

And the reply - silence.

Silence was the last thing Dawn Summer heard, before the fangs sunk deep into the flesh of her neck. She felt the blood, all warm and gooey, burst to the surface, and within a minute of her world gradually growing darer, everything stopped. The pain stoppd. The blood stopped. Her life stopped. Her body slump to the ground like a discarded toy, unwanted, and unloved.
