Buffy entered Spike's crypt the night after Riley left, again. "Spike?"
Spike was sitting on the sarcophagus, smoking a cigarette. "Slayer."
"Wanna tell me what's going on?" Buffy asked, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"I would if I knew myself," Spike said, putting his cigarette out.
"Where did those eggs come from?" Buffy asked.
"I don't know, Pet," Spike answered.
Then there was a flash and Halfrek appeared. "I did it."
"Cecily? Why? No, don't answer that," Spike said, getting of the sarcophagus in rage.
"Get out," Buffy said, coldly.
"Excuse me, Ms. Summers. You can't even raise your sister. Where do you get off telling me what to do?" Hally replied.
"GET OUT!" Spike yelled, as tears pooled in Buffy's eyes.
Halfrek scowled but vanished anyway.
"Pet?" Spike asked, approaching the slayer.
Buffy fell against his chest and sobbed.
Spike enveloped her in a safe embrace.
"Spike.. you should come home with me,'' Buffy whimpered, bringing her arms around his middle.
"Buffy, your friends are gunna ask questions," Spike said, stroking her hair.
"I don't care. I just... I don't care. Not anymore. I think it's time to let the gang know what's been going on between us." She picked her head up and pulled him toward the door of his crypt.
Buffy squeezed Spike's hand as they stood on the front porch.
"Buffy are you sure?" Spike asked.
"Yes. I blew up your crypt and I want you around. So the only solution is to have you stay with me," she said, and kissed him quickly before pulling him inside.
Dawn was asleep on the couch, and Willow and Tara were holding hands. Tara smiled at them as they came in.
"Hey guys," Buffy said, quietly.
"Buffy, why are you and Spike holding hands?" Willow asked, looking at their entwined fingers.
"Spike and I are together. Since the musical demon actually. Riley came to the crypt, Halfrek put demon eggs in Spike's crypt to get back at him for whatever. The eggs hatched so I blew up the lower level of his crypt to kill them. Now he's gunna stay here with me," Buffy said, feeling much better.
"Wow," Willow said. "Well, as long as your happy."
Buffy smiled. "I guess I should get Dawn to be," she said, looking over at her sleeping sister.
"I got her," Spike said, carefully lifting a sleeping Dawn in his arms. He carried her upstairs and Buffy followed saying goodnight to Willow and Tara.
Dawn was tucked in bed as Spike and Buffy watched her. Spike wrapped his arms around Buffy's waist and kissed the top of her hair.
"Come on. We've had a rough couple
days," Buffy said, pulling Spike to her room.
Buffy changed and they climbed in the bed. Spike spooned against her back and pulled her close to him. Soon both of them were sound asleep.
In the morning, when Buffy woke, Spike wasn't there. She climbed out of bed and ran downstairs. Spike and Dawn were in the kitchen laughing.
"Buffy, are you okay?" Spike asked.
"You scared me," Buffy said, kissing him softly.
Dawn raised an eyebrow. "Um guys?"
Buffy looked at Dawn. " Spike and I are together. I told Willow and Tara last night while you were sleeping. I didn't wanna wake you up," Buffy said.
"Oh. So I was right?" Dawn asked with a grin.
"You knew?" Buffy and Spike asked.
''Come on. You guys are so perfect for eachother. Anyone can see it," Dawn said."We do go together don't we?" She asked, wrapping her arm around Spike's waist.
Dawn nodded and smiled. "What happens now?"
"Spike stays her. I sorta blew up his crypt and I'm sure Spike will tell you later," Buffy said. "But you have school."
"I know," Dawn said, and she bounded up the stairs.
"Buffy are you sure this is the way you want it?" Spike asked.
Buffy rolled her eyes. "Yes. I looked at Riley and his wife and realized, I don't want to lose one of the greatest things in my life," she said, smiling.
Spike smiled and kissed her softly. "You know Harris is gunna freak."
"Don't care," Buffy said, and kissed him again.
