Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Four
I'm Ready Now by Spikes Queen
[Reviews - 0]

"Wait, Parker, I did this all wrong," Buffy said, tears forming.
Strong arms slipped around her waist from behind her.
"So , what's goin on?" A familiar English voice asked.
"Spike, right?" Parker asked.
"Yeah. You tell all the girls about your dad just to get in their pants?" Spike asked as he felt Buffy relax in his arms.
Buffy felt oddly comforted and safe with Spike's arms around her.
Parker just rolled his eyes and left a crying Buffy with Spike.
Buffy turned and buried her face in Spike's chest. Spike, for some reason, didn't hesitate in holding her.
Spike sat on a nearby bench and cradled Buffy in his lap. "It's okay."
"Spike, this isn't fair," she whimpered.
"I know. What happened, Buffy?" He asked, pulling away a little. He gently wiped away her tears and smoothed her hair back.
"Parker... used me for sex," she whispered.
Spike growled softly. "Oh Buffy." Spike stood up. "Come on. I'll take you back to your room," Spike said, offering his hand.
Buffy took his hand and noticed the gem. "You found the ring," she said, softly.
Spike gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "Yeah, but I'm not gunna kill you," He said, stopping in front of her room. "You gunna be okay?"
"I don't know. Why don't you come in?" Buffy said, opening her door.
Spike followed and sat on her bed.
"I'll be right back. I'm gunna go wash me face," Buffy said, leaving the room for a few minutes.
Spike shrugged off his duster and slung it over her chair. He looked around her room and noticed a picture of her mom. He smiled. He liked her mom.
Buffy came back and sat next to him.
"You okay?" Spike asked softly.
"This is twice in a row. There's gotta be something wrong with me," Buffy said.
"How long were you dating Parker?" Spike asked.
"2 weeks," Buffy answered.
"What made you think that two weeks is long enough?" Spike asked, sitting with his legs crossed across from her.
"I know. But I wanted so bad for somebody to want me," she said. She scooted down and laid her head in his lap.
Spike smiled and ran his hand through her hair. "You wanna talk about it?"
"Angel left me. We fought another apocalypse and he got sick. The only way to cure him was to drain the blood of a slayer. Faith, who is a slayer who went to the dark side, was the one who poisoned him. I was gunna kill her and save Angel," she said softly.
"But you couldn't take a life." Spike moved the hair off her neck. "So you gave him yours," Spike said, fingering the scar.
"All I remember is his teeth tearing into me and searing pain shooting through my body," Buffy said.
"Coz he was feeding. Love bites aren't supposed to hurt," Spike said.
Buffy didn't say anything. "It's not fair."
"I know. Life never is," Spike said, still playing with her hair.
Buffy moved up so she could hug him. Spike wrapped his arms tightly around her. "Spike, I just need someone to hold me and keep me safe," she whimpered.
Spike leaned back and held Buffy. She snuggled up against him and drifted to sleep. Spike toed off his boots and slept next to her.

A few hours later, Willow walked into the room and almost had a heart attack when she saw Spike and Buffy asleep together. She turned and went to Giles'.

Spike woke when the sun went down. He smiled at the sleeping slayer.
She stirred moments later. "Hey."
Spike smiled at her. "Feeling better?"
"Yeah." She noticed it was dark. "I guess we should get up. I gave to patrol," Buffy said.
"I know. You want help?" Spike asked.
"Sure. Why not?" Buffy said, letting Spike up.
"Listen, I do have to go out but I'll be back in 20 minutes," Spike said.
"Ok. I should call Giles and find out where Willow is." Buffy went and stood in front of him. "Thank you. For today. It really helped." Buffy leaned down and kissed him gently.
When she pulled away, Spike's eyes were wide with wonder. "You're welcome," he said, standing.
"I'll see you when you get back okay?" Buffy asked.
Spike smiled as he put his duster on. He went over to her. "I'll be back." He kissed her gently. "Promise."
Buffy smiled against his lips. "'kay." She watched as he left and wondered what was wrong with her. She picked up the phone and dialed Giles' number.
"Hello?" Giles' voice answered.
"Hey, it's me. I'm going patrolling and I haven't seen Willow all day," Buffy said.
"Oh. Willow's here. Do you wanna speak with her?" Giles asked.
"Please. Oh and Giles, I wanna talk to you about something tomorrow," Buffy said.
"Sure." Buffy heard shuffling.
"Buffy?" Came Willow's voice.
"Hey Will. Um, I'm going patrolling and I need to talk to you about something when I get back. It's important," Buffy said.
"Okay. I'll be there," Willow said.
"Great. See ya," Buffy said, and hung up.

Buffy was a little surprised when Spike came back 20 minutes after he left.
"Ready?" He asked.
Buffy smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I need to kill something," She said and they left.
After about 5 minutes, Buffy was fighting vamps. Spike staked a few and let Buffy beat the crap out of the one left before she staked it.
"Feel better?" Spike asked.
"Yes, I do. It's nice to have some company," Buffy said.
"Wanna do more?" Spike asked.
"No. I just wanna hang out with you," she said.
Spike smiled and they sat on one of the benches. Buffy snuggled up against him and enjoyed the embrace that gave her safety.
"Thanks for being her Spike. I like having you around," Buffy said, blushing.
"I like being around you too, Pet," he said, stroking her hair.
"You wanna go to the Bronze tomorrow?" She asked, softly.
"Love to," Spike whispered.
Buffy smiled and melted further into him.

About 2 hours later, Spike walked Buffy home.
Outside her door, they paused. Spike leaned down and kissed her softly.
"Buffy, do you want me to get rid of the ring?" He asked, leaning his forehead against hers.
Buffy looked down at his finger. "Maybe we should hide it or something," she said.
"Okay. I'll take care of it," Spike said.
"Good. Because I like you the way you are," Buffy said, smiling.
"Goodnight Pet," he said, smiling.
"Goodnight, Spike," Buffy said, and watched him walk down the hall.
She went inside and met Willow. "Hey."
"Hey. You okay/" Willow asked.
"I need to tell you something," Buffy said, sitting down.
"Shoot," Willow said, sitting next to her.
"Parker took advantage of me." Buffy proceeded to tell her tale. "And now we're bronzing tomorrow night."
Willow smiled a little. "So you like him?"
Buffy smiled. "Yeah, I do. Yesterday, it was like he didn't come to kill me. Like he knew Parker was gunna hurt me."
"Want company tomorrow?" Willow asked.
"If you want. But, I'm going with Spike around 7:00. Your class ends at 7:15 right?"
"Yeah. Oz and I'll swing by maybe," Willow said.
"Tomorrow, I have to tell Giles. If I see Xander, I might as well drop the bomb on him too," Buffy said, standing. "I'm gunna wash up, then get some rest," she said, going to the door.
Buffy came in a few minutes later and climbed into bed. She slept peacefully for the first time in ages.

The next night, Buffy tore her closet apart, trying to find a shirt to go with her leather pants. She found a green halter top with a black glitter strip from her left shoulder, down to her right hip. She put on her pants and leather boots.
Buffy put on a silver necklace with a matching bracelet. She ran a brush through her hair and put on peach lip gloss.
She checked herself in the full length mirror.

At 7:00, there was a knock on her dorm room door.
She checked herself one more time and smiled as she opened the door.
There was Spike in his usual black jeans, but had a dark blue, silk, button down shirt over his black t0- shirt. His hair didn't have any gel in it, so his soft curls were noticeable.
"Hey," she said, softly.
Spike was gazing at her. "Hey. You look nice," he said.
Buffy blushed. "Thanks," she whispered and grabbed her thin leather coat.

Buffy and Spike didn't waist any time in heading to he dance floor.
Buffy wrapped her arms around his neck and his hands rested on the small of her back. They were about the same height so, Buffy's head rest in the crook of his neck.
They swayed back and forth to the slow rhythm of Sarah McLachlan's "Full of Grace."
Unconsciously they moved closer to eachother so they were flush against eachother.
By the time, Spike walked Buffy home, Willow and Oz had joined them for a few hours.
How they ended up kissing on Buffy's bed, neither knew. But Spike's coat and shoes ended up on Buffy's chair along with Buffy's coat and boots. Buffy was curled up in Spike's lap and her hands were tangled in Spikes' hair.
Buffy felt his cool tounge lick her lips. She ranted entrance and tangled her tounge with is. She moaned softly and her hands traveled down his chest and she began pulling his black shirt out of his jeans.
Spike broke way. "Buffy?"
Buffy opened her eyes and gaze at him. "Yeah?"
"You do know what you're doing right?" Spike asked, capturing her wandering hand.
Buffy smiled and leaned into kiss him. "I'll slow down," she said, bringing her hands back up to his shoulders.
After a few hours they fell asleep.
