The darkness is coming;
I feel it draw near.
I can feel it's grip on me;
It's breath in my ear.
I'm much more afraid;
Than I thought I would be.
As I'm feeling my life;
Being sucked out of me.
My body is weak;
As I'm shedding the tears.
That I've held back;
Through these hard years.
I've watched my friends;
Being taken from me.
One by one;
To eternity.
Buffy, was actually;
The first one to go.
But not without a fight;
This, I know.
Giles was the next;
To be claimed.
He died suddenly;
His heart was aflame.
Angel went sadly;
Alone, with his fears.
He walked into the sunlight;
On the first of the year.
Then Xander, sweet Xander;
Not long ago.
Was shot and killed;
In a cold winter snow.
Last, dear little Willow;
Of whom so fond we were.
In a terrible plane crash;
That claimed none but her.
Now, as I lay here;
With my feelings of dread.
And all of the memories;
That dance through my head.
I think of my friends;
Who now are all dead.
But none in vain;
In triumph, instead.
And I think of the times;
That we once shared.
And of how much we loved;
How much we cared.
Things are getting dark;
Each breath, full of pain.
But just like the others;
I shall not go in vain.
For here, in my last moments;
With my very last breath.
I call out, "I am Cordelia Chase,
A proud Slayerette!"
And whatever fate;
That waits for me.
