Spike watched as Buffy fought the demon and he ran over to help her.
"Spike!" Buffy screamed.
"Shut up, Slayer. I haven't had a good fight in months. Just don't let him in the hole. I know," he said, punching the demon.
Buffy pushed herself to her feet and joined him.
The demon punched Buffy in the mouth and sent her flying into a cement beam, knocking her out.
Spike gave a feral roar and snapped the demons's neck, throwing it away from the hole.
He ran to Buffy's side. "Pet?" He called, softly.
Buffy groaned and her eyes opened. "Ow," she whispered
"You okay?" Spike asked, helping her sit up. He held up two fingers. "How many fingers?"
"Two," Buffy mumbled.
Spike stood up and offered a hand.
Buffy grasped it but couldn't get a sturdy footing.
Spike caught her as she began slump. "Don't worry. World's not gunna end," he said, scooping her up.
Buffy didn't struggle. "Thanks," she whispered, closing her eyes.
"No problem, Pet," he said, walking out her friends.
"Spike.." Xander began.
"Relax. She just had a nasty fall," Spike said.
Then someone roughly yanked Spike back causing him to drop Buffy.
Buffy whimpered as she hit the floor. "Spike, you jerk. Why'd you.." Buffy paused when she saw Riley moving in on Spike.
She tried to scramble to her feet but was still incapable of doing so. "Guys do something," she said.
Xander raised and eyebrow but pushed Riley away from Spike. Spike made his way over to Buffy. "Luv, you okay?"
"Other then the fact I can't stand, I'm peachy," she said, softly.
Spike gently wrapped her arms around his neck and he scooped her up.
Buffy hissed as one of her bruises inflamed.
"Sorry, Pet. But I gotta get you to Rupert's," he said, carrying her out of the school.
Spike carried Buffy through Giles' front door. "Watcher!"
Giles came out of the kitchen. "Good Lord. Is she all right?" Giles asked.
"I'm fine," Buffy said, as Spike carefully laid her on the couch.
"You're not Buffy. You have a few nasty bruises," Spike said.
"I'll be fine. I'm just gunna get some sleep," she said, closing her eyes.
Spike smiled and pushed her hair out of her face.
A smile appeared on Buffy's face as she slipped into sleep.
Spike sat on the coffee table and watched her.
When Buffy woke, she felt something on her stomach. She opened her eyes and smiled at Spike's sleeping face.
She ran her fingers through his hair gently.
Spike opened his eyes and smiled at Buffy. "Hey. You okay?"
Buffy smiled back at him. "Yeah. I'm fine. You feel better, now that you've had a good fight?" She asked as Spike picked up his head.
"Yeah, but I didn't want to get you hurt," he said, softly.
Buffy leaned up and kissed him gently. "Don't worry about me," she said.
"Too late," Spike whispered, kissing her again.
