“Oh, I like that! You know any dark rituals?”
“Well, I’ve been to Stonehenge.”
“You never told me that.”
“Oh, yeah, bunches of times...my girlfriend thought she was a druid...damn, should’ve turned her...”
“Yeah. Did she teach you anything?”
“She taught me how to play Across the Universe on the...” *POOF*
“I was thinking more along the lines of dark rituals to bring down...” *POOF*
Buffy and Xander looked at each other for a moment.
“Nothing’s gonna change my world,” Buffy said finally.
“Good, but more than a little late. Generally you get the quip in before the poof.”
“I know, but I just wanted those two gone...could that have BEEN a more boring conversation?”
“Vampires. Not known for being erudite conversationalists.” Buffy stopped cold. Xander spent a moment looking for an unseen threat before turning to her questioningly. She shook her head in wonder.
“Xander just said erudite! Willow would be so proud, if she ever recovered from the shock.” She took off walking again before Xander could react. He had to hurry to catch up.
“Just an example of my non-vampire, all-human vocabulary skills, and also...hey!” Buffy smiled an apology and Xander fell back into step with her. “So after we’re done patrolling, what do you wanna do?”
“I dunno...what do you wanna do?”
