Before She Visited Hell
Chapter Three: Vengeance
Two nights after Amelia`s attack on Pyke and Buffy
At first Buffy had felt saddened by Pyke`s death. She had lost her watcher Merrick to the hands of the master vampire Lothos and now Amelia had taken Pyke from her. She wanted nothing more than to stake Amelia, but she knew that it would take much more than that. So she had come up with a plan. She would probably get in a great deal of trouble, but her anger raged within her, blacking out all sense of right and wrong.
She had gotten some gasoline and had gone to the high school gym. She had prepared a trap with some nets and sent one of Amelia`s minions back to tell her to come meet Buffy in the gym. Buffy soaked the gym with gasoline and waited outside for the vampiress to arrive. At around midnight the ancient vamp did come.
“I gave you a chance to run slayer! Are you really that desperate to die?”
“You killed my boyfriend, now I`m here to return the favor!” Buffy ran at Amelia and began her attack. She snapped a leg at Amelia`s face. The vampiress easily dodged it and retaliated with an uppercut. Buffy flew into the air and then landed hard on her side. Amelia slowly advanced and pulled out a large blade from her red velvet gown.
“I will enjoy killing you slayer!” Amelia said as she raised the blade over her head. Buffy swept Amelia`s feet out from under her and then grabbed the sword. Amelia leapt up and reached for Buffy. Buffy swung the blade at Amelia and it slashed across her chest.
“Idiot girl,”Amelia spat, “swords cannot kill me!”
“Oh I know, Amelia. I`m just getting ready to really kill you!” Buffy said and then kicked Amelia through the gym door. Amelia slid across the gasoline slicked floor. Buffy ran to the entrance and cut the cord which held the net she had rigged. The net fell upon Amelia and trapped her. Buffy took a book of matches out of the black leather jacket that Pyke had given her. She lit a match and threw it at Amelia. The vampiress bellowed in pain as her body was engulfed in flames. Buffy closed the doors and watched as the structure burned to the ground as Amelia screamed in agony.
Sirens sounded and the police came. Buffy stood and waited for them to come. Vengeance was hers and she didn`t care about being the slayer or about the cops. Pyke was avenged and she was done with vampires, forever.
