Glistening Blue Paint
I sometimes feel that life has passed me by,
But I am never quite sure.
I have breathed and I have sung.
I've smiled and cried,
I've bleed and I've laughed.
Yet that is not living.
And sometimes I feel like a badly painted tear,
Drawn on the face of a clown. And the circus goes on around me.
The world spins on an invisible pole.
God weeps and the devil laughs.
Good and evil in an endless brawl.
No one wins or loses, no one even knows what side they are on.
And I am no different then any of them.
Am I?
Yet the world still spins.
And sometimes I feel like a badly painted tear,
Drawn on the face of a clown. And the Circus goes on around me.
Animals twirl and flip and spin,
And the ringmaster yells and screams.
Acrobats twirl and flip and spin.
Children wave their flags and throw their food,
With me in the middle of it all, alone and helpless.
The world is a circus, filled with fools.
And sometimes I feel like a badly painted tear,
Drawn on the face of a clown. And the circus goes on around me.
