Xander sighed to himself as he stared at the bleach blonde Vampire sitting across from him at the table. He wasn't entirely sure when or how it had happened, but somehow he had managed to fall in love with Spike. Now all he ever seemed to do was stare at him. It was safe to do so right now, Buffy and Giles were in the back and Willow and Tara were off somewhere. The problem was he didn't know if Spike felt the same, or how to tell him. Besides, he'd probably just laugh at him anyway. Xander sighed again.
A song came on the radio. Xander listened for a second. He laughed to himself the song fit pretty well. He looked at Spike suddenly, then softly started to sing along with the song.
"You walk in and my strength walks out the door.
Say my name and I can't fight it anymore.
Lovin' you isn't really somethin' I should do.
Shouldn't wanna spend my time with you.
I should try to be strong.
But baby you're the right kind of wrong.
Yeah baby you're the right kind of wrong."
Spike looked up from his book at Xander. Blue eyes met with brown and locked. Xander swallowed nervously, but kept singing.
"Lovin' you isn't really somethin' I should do.
Shouldn't wanna spend my time with you.
I should try to be strong.
But baby you're the right kind of wrong.
yeah baby you're the right kind of wrong."
Spike stared hard at Xander, and Xander could have sworn he saw disbelief flash in his eyes. Hope came next. Xander's heart started to race. Was it possible Spike felt the same?
Then Spike got up and turned the radio off. Xander sighed. He watched Spike put a CD in. The music started, and Spike looked at Xander again. He began to sing along, using the same soft tone Xander had.
"I don't like to be alone in the night.
And I don't like to here I'm wrong when I'm right.
And I don't like to have to rain on my shoes
But I do love you.
But I do love you.
I don't like to see a sky painted grey.
And I don't like when nothin's goin' my way.
And I don't like to be the one with the blues
But I do love you.
But I do love you."
Xander just stared at Spike. Spike stopped singing and approached Xander. Xander stood up. For a moment the two just stared at each other.
"How long?" Spike asked softly.
Xander shrugged nervously. "Couple months. You?"
"One year."
Xander's eyes widened. "You mean, all that time, I could've....."
Xander didn't get to finish his sentance because Spike leaned up and kissed him. It wasn't hard or dominating like Xander had expected, instead it was soft and loving. Xander pulled Spike against him and brought a hand up to cup the back of Spike's head. Spike tilted his head, deepening the kiss. He snaked his tongue out and Xander opened his mouth.
The sound of clapping broke them apart. The two
looked over to see Willow and Buffy, both grinning.
"About time you two," Buffy said.
"You knew we liked each other?" Xander said in
surprise.
Willow laughed. "It was obvious. You'd both stare at each other with these cute dreamy looks."
Spike threw his head back and laughed. "Figures someone else'd find out first! And the Slayer has no
objections, should I be frightened?"
Buffy rolled her eyes. "Just don't hurt Xander. If you do, be very, very afraid."
Spike laughed again. "I have no intention of it, pet." He looked up at Xander. "No intention of it at all."
