I see her crumble a little more
Every once and awhile.
Piece by piece, from the inside.
No one could ever know it,
Unless they were close to her.
Only then could they see the hurt in her eyes.
She wears her beauty and wit
Just like an iron mask.
Everyone wears a mask.
But no one wears it so well.
She hides her hurt so well.
It kills me to see her down like this.
Sometimes I feel so helpless.
I can be her friend.
I can care. I just can't butt in.
With hands tied, I can only watch.
I just can't do anything
When she's down like this.
