We know, this can't be.
Why, can't we just see?
Now I can't pull myself away from this
You know how I feel, but this isn't bliss
That night we should, have never kissed.
I shouldn't have stayed, and let you see
Why does this have to be?
Now I can't get you out of my head
The memory....
of that night
Fills me with joy and fright.
I know sooner or later,
You'll run away from me.
How's it gonna be?
Are we still fightin'?
How's it gonna be,
Are we still crying?
Why does this have to be?
You don't care what I have done
Maybe you should,
because I can't run
from what I've done,
or into the night.
For it's the only time, I can be in your sight.
Is this love for me, you really feel?
Or some teenage fantasy turned real?
It's only a matter of time, before I can't fight it.
When your trust, turns to dust in my arms.
I'll fear what I do, when that time comes.
Why can't we just walk away, and leave things be?
Why does this have to be?
Why can you see past my true face?
And see the man, who finally wants to find
Redemption for his battered soul.
Why do you feel for me so?
Why, are we still trying?
Maybe I should build up the courage to walk away.
It would make it easier that way.
But for some reason, I always stay.
