This poem is a dual perspective from Angel and Buffy. It explains alot about how they feel about each other, and some of their concerns. You might notice how some lines sound like they are coming from both of them, while others are clearly coming from one of the two. I designed it that way. Please read and enjoy. Sometimes I wish I couldn't live forever,
and why this must be.
In the midnight hour,
I can feel your power,
I want you to visit me.
Sometimes I wish time would stop forever,
when I kiss you, and you kiss me.
In the midnight hour,
I dream of you,
I want you to hold me.
But I can't stand to be around you,
For what I am,
and what you mean to me.
But when I see you,
I can't stand to meet you
I want you to love me.
And while you can say it,
I don't dare, for I'm afraid of what might be.
I would leap into your heart like never,
and in a sweep of emotion
I'd lose control
I don't want to hurt you or me
I know you feel you put me in danger,
by just existing in this world with me.
But don't you see, the danger,
is in the life that I must lead.
I have no breath
But I can walk among you
It causes me pleasure and pain
I want you to stay in my arms forever,
But I know that can never be.
I want to stay in your arms forever,
But why won't you let me?
When I look to the higher power
I wonder if this is His judgement on me.
To keep this love forever,
just out of my reach.
To be caught between two worlds forever,
and be brought down, to my knees.
I want to be a part of your life,
Why won't you let me in?
I want to be in your embrace,
till I trust you implicitly.
In the midnight hour
I wish you were with me.
I could stay in this place forever.
But for now,
Let's take it one step at a time and see.
