Scene: Sunnydale High
Dawn is walking down a deserted corridor when a figure appears from
the shadows. It seems entirely cloaked in darkness.
Figure: STOP!
Dawn: W-Who's there?
Figure: I am that which the darkness fears!
Dawn: Th-The First Evil?
The figure's tone changes. It sounds irritated.
Figure: First Evil? First Evil? Why does everyone assume that? I'm
the SECOND Evil! (pauses) Do you have any idea what it's like having
an older sister who's a legend?
Dawn manages not to laugh.
Figure: It's always First Evil did this. First Evil did that. No
one ever pays attention to anything I do!
Dawn: P-Publicity.
Figure: What?
Dawn: Publicity. That's what you need. Someone to spread the word
about you.
Figure (enthusiastically): That's right. I'm the SECOND Evil. I'm
in town and I'm BAD. I'm going to do something so horrific everyone
will say "First Evil, who?" When I carry out my plan the entire world
will tremble at my feet! Tell everyone!
Dawn takes this as an invitation to leave. She moves away, first
cautiously, then more hurriedly.
After she's gone the figure mutters to itself.
Figure: Now all I need to do is figure out what my plan IS.
