Inspired by the Season 7 spoiler about Amber Benson returning as a different character.
Spike (in Tara's shape) comes walking into the Summers' house. Buffy,
Giles, Willow, and Xander are inside.
They all react.
Willow: Tara, you're alive! How?
Spike: Not Tara. It's me, Spike. I got hit by some bizarre spell and
now I'm in this body. You have to find a way to change me back!
Giles: I don't know. I think I prefer you this way.
Willow: Definitely.
Xander: Me too.
Spike (still in Tara's shape) glares at them.
Giles (sighing): Very well. I'll go see what I can find out.
Later that day, Giles calls the Scoobies together.
Giles: I've discovered something most extraordinary. If Spike stays in
Tara's form for a week, we can perform a ritual that will result in
Spike and Tara both being here in their own bodies.
A week later...
(The ritual finishes with a big flash of light.)
Willow: Tara, you're alive! And ... Oops.
We see Tara standing next to what appears to be Jonathan.
Spike (from what looks like Jonathan's body): What do you mean "oops"?
Xander: Maybe we should just leave well enough alone this time?
