NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Buffy's scream rings through the house. Willow and Dawn immediately
rush to her room.
Willow asks worriedly "What's wrong, Buffy?"
Buffy points to the computer screen. "Email. Arrived today. Anya's
closing the Archive. Permanently."
Dawn looks puzzled. "You heard from Anya?" She pauses. "Oh.
Different Anya."
Willow nods. "Yes, this Anya runs a fanfic site called the Slayer's
Fanfic Archive. It has all sorts of stories about us by a bunch of
different authors. She hasn't added much to it lately. Maybe she
just got tired of it."
Willow looks at the message. "Buffy, did you click on the link yet?"
A few seconds and a couple of pages later they see a message in big
red letters:
APRIL FOOL'S!
Buffy yells. "April Fool's! This whole thing was a joke! How could
she do this!"
Willow considers. "I always thought that the name wasn't a
coincidence. She's probably a vengeance demon. If we only knew who
made the..."
Dawn interrupts. "Don't say it!"
Willow finishes. "The you-know-what."
Buffy growls. "I don't care who made the you-know-what. I'm going
down there and showing her what happens when you mess with the
Slayer."
Willow cautions her. "That might not be such a good idea. Anya
stockpiled all sorts of stories for just such an emergency. Annoy her
and she might post the one about you marrying Quentin Travers."
Buffy replies "Then you do something. You're Super Hacker. What
could she do to you?"
Willow tells her "Four words. Me. Hank. June bride."
Dawn makes gagging noises.
Willow continues "Then there's the Angel/Spike/Xander slash fic. Do I
need to go on?"
Buffy shudders. "Please don't. Isn't there anything we can do?"
Willow shakes her head. "Not much. Look at the bright side. The
archive isn't closing and it's an entire year until the next April
Fool's day."
Buffy grimaces. "All that means is that Anya has an entire year to
think up something else to do to us."
