Buffy heard sounds of a struggle and ran towards it.
She saw Spike laying on the ground and rolled her eyes. “You never give up, do you?” She asked, crossing her arms. “Spike, why can’t you just leave me alone?”
Buffy heard rustling but before she could do anything, she was zapped. She collapsed on the ground next to Spike. The last thing she saw was men in masks before she blacked out.
When Buffy came to, she was snuggled up against something hard.
She opened her eyes and pushed herself up.
She noticed Spike unconscious next to her.
“Spike?” She asked, shaking his shoulder.
Spike groaned and his eyes fluttered open. “Slayer?”
Buffy smiled a little. “Hey. We’re in big trouble,” she said.
“So what you’re telling me is we’re being held in some underground lab?” Spike asked, sitting with his back against the wall.
“Yep,” Buffy said, standing across from him.
“Great,” Spike muttered.
Buffy looked over at him. “They did something to you. There’s a bandage on the back of your head,” she said.
Spike put his hand up to the bandage. “Ow,” he hissed.
“What?” Buffy asked.
“Tender,” Spike said. “It feels like they took something out or put something in.”
Buffy went over and sat next to him. “We need to figure out how to get out of here,” she said. “I don’t think this place is gunna be very nice to us.”
Spike sighed. “Doesn’t feel right. We better come up with something soon. I don’t know when we’re gunna get fed,” he said.
“I wouldn’t eat anything that they gave me anyways and neither should you,” she said, laying her head on his shoulder. “We should alternate sleeping.”
“I’ll wake you in a few hours,” Spike said.
“Thanks,” she whispered, going to sleep.
When Buffy woke, Spike was gone. “Spike!” She stood up frantic. “Spike!”
The door opened and Buffy kicked them out of her way. She picked up the doctor and wrapped her fingers around his throat. “If you don’t tell me where he is, I’ll kill you,” she said, in a deadly voice.
The doctor nodded to the soldiers and they took her to the pit.
Buffy watched as the doctors worked on Spike. She let go of the doctor and jumped into the pit. She knocked everyone out of her way and made it to Spike, who was breathing heavily.
“Spike?” She asked, reaching her hand out.
“Buffy don’t,” Spike whispered.
“What happened?” She asked.
“I’m so hungry,” Spike said.
Buffy helped him up. “Take a little from me. I need you strong so we can get out of here,” she said.
She brought Spike’s fangs to her neck. “Come on, Spike,” she said.
She felt Spike changed against her and he gently pierced her, covering Angel’s mark.
Spike only took a few sips, before withdrawing his fangs. He licked the wounds closed and pulled away. “You okay?”
Buffy nodded and turned around. “I will kill everyone in here if you don’t let us go.”
Professor Walsh stepped forward. “What are you?” She asked.
“Professor Walsh? I’m the slayer,” she said, crossing her arms.
Professor Walsh looked skeptical. “The slayer’s just a myth.”
“Do you want proof?” Buffy asked.
“Yeah,” Walsh said.
“Every demon in here knows me,” Buffy said. “Try me and find out.”
Riley stepped forward. “We cant keep a civilian,” he said.
“Riley?” Buffy asked.
Spike looked back and forth between the two of them.
Riley ignored her as he spoke to professor Walsh.
Walsh looked at Buffy. “You may go,” she said.
“I’m taking him with me,” Buffy said.
“I’m sorry. We cant allow that,” Walsh said.
“You don’t have a choice,” Buffy growled.
Spike looked around. The doctors and soldiers were making him uneasy.
“Who do you think you are?” Walsh asked.
“I’m the slayer and unless you want me to kick your ass, you better let us go,” Buffy said, crossing her arms.
Riley raised an eyebrow. “Walsh, we might as well let them go,” he said.
“If you don’t I will make sure that this entire operation is exposed,” Buffy said.
“I’ll keep an eye on her,” Riley said.
Walsh reluctantly agreed and let Buffy and Spike leave.
Once outside, Buffy breathed in the night air. “God I hate that place,” she said.
Spike smiled. “Pet, I have to go and eat,” he said.
Buffy looked at him closely. “Right. Sorry. It just feels good to be out of there,” she said.
Spike smiled. “I’ll see you around slayer,” he said, walking away.
“See you around, Spike,” she said, into thin air.
About a week later, Buffy was patrolling the cemetery. She had only staked two fledglings before Spike came into view.
Buffy smiled as he approached her. “Hey.”
“Hey,” Spike said.
“Are you…” Buffy was cut off by lips crashing against hers.
She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him hungrily.
“Cor I missed you so much Buffy,” he whispered.
Buffy smiled. “I missed you, too,” Buffy said, kissing him again.
