Spike screamed as pain shot through his head.
“Spike!” Buffy screamed, as she unlocked the shackles.
She managed to maneuver him upstairs and to the couch. She gently laid him down as the screaming stopped.
Buffy ran to the kitchen and got a damp cloth and came back in to wipe the blood from his nose. “You okay?” She asked, sitting beside him.
“Popped another blood vessel,” Spike said, weakly. “Never had anything like that before.” He gently rubbed his temple.
Buffy swatted his hand away and massaged both of his temples, hoping to ease his head ache.
Spike closed his eyes and relaxed. Buffy smiled and thought about laying with him. But too many emotions conflicted in her.
‘Screw it,’ She thought to herself. She climbed on top of him and rested her head on his chest.
Spike tensed up and looked down at her head. “Buffy, um… what are you doing?”
“Just hold me,” she whispered. “It’ll make us both feel better.”
Spike didn’t know what to do but he rested his hands on her back and gently ran his thumbs back and forth.
Buffy sighed in contentment and relaxed with him. Spike was grateful, for the chip didn’t fire while she laid with him. They stayed like that until Warren walked into the room. He whimpered as Buffy got up but knew she had work to do. He prayed he would get another chance like that, but didn’t get his hopes to high.
