Emotions by Spikes Queen

Buffy walked through the door with Angel in tact. “I’m home,” she called, softly.

The majority of the gang was in the living room. “Angel,” Giles said.

“Hey. Heard about you’re apocalypse. Here to help,” Angel said.

Buffy gave Giles the folder as she fingered the amulet in her coat pocket. “There’s info on how to win,” she said, before going to the basement.

Angel was right behind her, but she didn’t want to talk to him. She opened the basement door and went downstairs.

Spike was pounding on a punching bag.

Buffy’s eyes filled with tears, knowing that he was mad at her. But she went toward him, hoping to fix things.

Spike paused as she came closer to him. “So, where’s tall, dark, and forehead?”

“Upstairs,” Buffy whimpered, wrapping her arms his waist. “Just hold me.” she whispered, her tears falling as she buried her face in his shoulder.

Spike’s anger melted as she cried. His arms went around her and he pulled her close. “Shhh. It’s okay, Pet,” he whispered.

“I’m sorry,” she said, her arms tightened around him.

Spike gently pushed her way. He reached up to wipe away her tears. He gave her a gentle smile that made her knees go weak. “I love you.”

Buffy looked up at him and smiled through her tears. “I know,” she whispered, kissing him softly. She tangled her fingers in his hair and molded herself to him.

Spike’s arms went around her waist and he pulled her closer to him.

Angel’s eyes widened as he growled.

Spike broke away from Buffy at his growl. He noticed Buffy on the stairs and growled.

Buffy felt him tense around and stroked his hair. “Angel, please go away,” she whimpered.

“Not, until you explain this to me,” he said, locked in a death stare with Spike.

Buffy turned to him angrily. “I do not have to explain anything to you. You are not part of my life like that anymore,” she flared.

“So you turn to Spike?!” Angel yelled.

Buffy glared at him and risked a glance at Spike. “Just go upstairs and leave me alone,” she said.

“Not until you see what you’re doing,” Angel said, stalking toward her.

Buffy backed away from him and for some reason, tried to hide behind Spike.

Spike hoped she was trying to put him in the middle, because he put himself in front of
her. “She said go upstairs,” he growled, dangerously low.

“Get out of my way, Spike,” Angel said, growling as well.

Spike’s fist shot out, sending Angel sprawling. “Maybe you didn’t hear me. I’m not in the mood to fight with you so get lost, before I do something I’m gunna regret,” he said.

“What do you think your doing?” Angel asked. “She doesn’t belong to you.”

“You’ve been gone a long time,” Spike said. “But actually she does. She has for a long time. The things that you’ve done to her, could never compare to what I did. You continue to hurt her over and over. I did it once and I almost killed myself over it,” he said, relaxing a little as Buffy stroked his back.

“You don’t know anything about what happened between us,” Angel said, defensively.

“I know her better then anyone. I watched you hurt her. I watched Captain Cardboard hurt her. Unless you want me to kick your ass into next wee, I suggest you go upstairs,” he said.

Angel had to try really hard not to laugh. “I don’t take orders from you boy,” he said, grinning.

Spike growled and punched him again. “You took Dru from me twice. I am not gunna let you take Buffy from me,” he said.

“You don’t have her,” Angel said, standing.

“Yes he does!” Buffy screamed, coming out from behind Spike.

“I think you’re delirious, Buffy,” Angel said. “I’m taking you upstairs and away from him,” he said, trying to grab her arm.

Spike’s fist connected with Angel’s jaw for the third time but this time, Angel kicked Spike in the stomach.

Spike doubled over in pain and Angel sent him across the room.

Buffy watched as Spike struggled to get up and broke Angel’s nose. “Get out,” she growled, going over to steady Spike as he got to his feet.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him against her.

The basement door opened and someone came downstairs.

“Yo B, if you…” Faith stopped short when she saw Angel. “When’d you get here?”

Faith saw his bleeding nose and Spike in Buffy’s arms. “Killing each other already?”

“Yeah,” Angel said, sheepishly.

Faith rolled her eyes and looked at Buffy. “Can have your room back now,” she said.

Buffy pulled away from Spike and smiled at Spike. “Thanks,” she said, taking Spike upstairs.

Once they were upstairs, Faith glared at Angel.

“What?” Angel asked.

“I did not help you so you could come back here and mess up Buffy’s life. She’s happy with Spike. Leave her alone. Angel, you’re need in L.A. Buffy has things under control. Go home. don’t put yourself through this okay?” She said, smiling.

“You’re right. Thanks, Faith.” They headed upstairs and to the back porch.

Faith gave Angel a friendly hug. “Good luck, Angel. I’ll see you soon,” she said.

Angel smiled. “If you’re ever in L.A., drop by,” he said.

“I will,” Faith said.

Angel gave her one last smile before disappearing into the night.

Faith went back inside and found Wood in the living room. She went and sat in his lap. “Angel left. He’s needed in L.A., and um… Buffy needed some time with Spike,” she said, yawning.

“You need your rest,” Wood said. “You’re still healing.”

Faith smiled and fell asleep against Wood.

Upstairs, Buffy and Spike were in Buffy’s bed. Buffy was leaning against him, keeping a strong grip on him.

“Spike, Angel gave me an amulet,” Buffy said.

“Yeah, I know. I heard about it,” Spike said, stroking her hair.

“So you know an ensouled champion is supposed to wear it. I think you should wear it,” she said, quietly.

Spike’s hand stopped in her hair.

Buffy continued quickly. “Spike, Angel’s not my champion anymore. You are.”

Spike smiled and kissed her hair. “It’s okay,” he said.

Buffy snuggled deeper into him. “Good, it means a lot,” she said.

Spike kissed her hair softly. “I love you, Buffy,” he said, quietly.

Buffy hesitated but she quickly recovered. “I know. I love you too,” she whispered.

“Y-You do?” Spike stammered.

“Yeah. Been wanting to tell you for some time. So I want this battle to be over so we can start a life together. No matter what anyone says,” Buffy said, closing her eyes.

Spike smiled and settled down with her. Soon both vampire and slayer were asleep.
