Caleb swung Buffy through the window, sending broken glass everywhere.
Buffy slammed into the wall and fell to the ground unconscious.
Caleb smiled at her, before leaving the school.
A few hours later, Spike paced around the basement agitated. He growled and went upstairs.
“Spike?” Dawn asked, as he stalked towards the front door.
“Yeah?” Spike asked, putting his coat on.
“You okay?” Dawn asked, going toward him.
“I’ve got a bad feeling,” Spike said, looking at her. “I think Buffy’s in trouble.”
Dawn looked at him closely and knew he was really worried. She said she was gunna finish cleaning out her desk at work.”
Spike gave her a smile and left.
Spike followed Dawn’s lead and entered the school. He went towards Buffy and stopped short when he rounded a corner. She was unconscious in a pile of glass.
Spike ran to her side and turned her over. “Buffy?” He asked, running his hands over her, trying to find injuries.
She didn’t appear to be bleeding just unconscious.
Spike sighed and scooped her up. “I got you,” he whispered, taking her home.
By the time they got home, Buffy was awake, but she was exhausted.
“Spike, I’m okay,” she said.
Spike paused on the front porch. “You’re hurt Buffy. Can’t I just take care of you?”
Buffy nodded and laid her head on his shoulder.
Spike walked into the front door and everyone looked up.
“Buffy!” Dawn yelled, getting up from Xander’s side. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” Buffy muttered. “Caleb showed up at school and threw me through a window.”
Giles stepped forward. “We might have found something,” he said.
Spike gently set Buffy on her feet and took her jacket off.
“Whadda got?” Buffy asked, hobbling over to him.
“Caleb has a foot hold up north,” Giles said. “Might be worth looking into.”
Buffy looked at him. “You’re right. You and Faith hold down the fort. Don’t make Willow uses unless its necessary. Spike and I will go check it out,” she said, hobbling back over to the blonde vampire.
“Buffy is that a good idea?” Spike asked, steadying her.
“Yeah. I don’t think it’ll be a problem, though. Faith can handle things right?” Buffy asked, looking at the other slayer.
“Yeah. Go ahead. There might be something important there that could be useful,” Faith said.
Buffy smiled. “Come on Spike. We can take the motorcycle,” she said, as he helped her put on her jacket.
Spike sighed but nodded. “Lets go,” he said, opening the door for her.
Spike climbed onto the motorcycle and Buffy eased on behind him.
“You okay?” Spike asked.
“Yeah,” Buffy said, wrapping her arms around his waist as if it was the most natural thing in the world. “I’ll be fine.”
Spike smiled and touched her hand briefly before starting the motorcycle.
Buffy hung on tight as the motorcycle rode off into the night.
