I honestly don't know where to begin this letter. Let me start out with what I do know—you're back among the living, well actually, undead.
Andrew told me when he came back with Dana. I wish I could've seen you're face when you saw the 'new and improved' Andrew.
Buffy and I are living in Rome. It's nice and all but I miss the good old United States. If we stay here long enough I'll be bilingual which is of the good. Giles is trying to re-establish the watcher's council. I think you'd make a good one. It would make history—first ever vampire watcher!
How'd you come back? Andy didn't explain that. Was it Willow? I know she was working on it. She was even looking into astral projection. She wanted to make sure she knew where you were before she attempted it.
I want you to know that I'm sorry. We drifted apart last year. I regret it each day I wake up. Every day I wish we had stayed friends and over the summer I longed to be called 'niblet', 'little bit', or even 'platelet' just once more.
The thing is I wanted to be mad at you. Being angry gave me power or so I thought. I wanted you to come to me and explain yourself, tell me why you got your soul. But instead you backed off. Not exactly something the old Spike would do. I should've said something before that day but I'm stubborn. Mom always said I got that from my dad.

It's good to hear from you. Would've replied sooner 'cept I've been in the Wolfram and Hart hospital wing and I'm still getting used to having hands again. (I'll explain that later).
Willow isn't the one responsible for me being back among the undead. Remember the amulet Peaches delivered to Sunnydale? It was sent to LA and poof! Here comes….Spike.
There's a bit of a catch though. I'm a ghost. A terrific scientist by the name of Fred worked on turning me corporeal again. A right genius she is.
Then I get some mail and boom vampire again. Guess I can assume Buffy knows I'm back too. I knew that Andrew couldn't keep a secret. Tell Buffy that I would love to come to Rome but can't.
Fred and Willow would get on great; I just know it. Fred did almost corporealize me after all.
You think I'd make a fine vampire watcher, lil bit? That has some irony to it. Spike—the vampire slayer slayer turned watcher. I imagine Giles would be irate if he found out I was watcher to a new slayer. How's Faith and Robin? Andrew didn't mention them during his little visit.
I met Dana when Andrew came into town. Never met a psycho slayer until then. She brought back some bad memories. Dana had the memories of all the past slayers—thought she was Robin's mum and the Chinese Slayer from the Boxer Rebellion. Not only that, she thought I was the one who tortured her as a little girl.
This chick decided to get revenge by cutting my hands off. Kept going on about 'head and heart keep cutting until you see dust'. Angel got her under control and Andrew took Dana away.
Fred got my hands and put them back on. That's about it for what's been going on.
