After introductions were made, Faith, Buffy, and Spike continued to patrol. Buffy couldn’t help but noticed that Faith was flirting with Spike. Buffy felt like the 3rd wheel. It was hard to watch them but neither noticed how uncomfortable she was.
When they got home Buffy went in but Spike and Faith stayed outside to have a cigarette. After she told everyone that Faith was here she went to the back porch.
Spike finally came in laughing with Faith and Dawn wasn’t happy. “Buffy’s on the back porch and she wants to talk to you,” she said, to him.
Spike went to the back porch and he could instantly feel the anger coming off of her in waves. “Buffy?”
All of a sudden she started sobbing and Spike frowned. “Hey,” he said taking her in his arms. Finally he took her inside and downstairs. “What’s wrong?” He asked, cradling her in his arms as he sat down.
“You were flirting with Faith and you were totally ignoring me,” Buffy whispered.
“There is only one girl in my heart Buffy,” he said, wiping her tears. “I promise.”
“She’s moved in on all the other men in my life,” Buffy said. “She could get to you also.”
“She wont,” he said.
“I just don’t wanna lose you. I just found you,” she whispered.
Finally he rocked her to sleep and gently laid her down. Unable to control himself he slid next to her and snuggled against her falling asleep instantly.
