Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Seven
Trusting Me by Spikes Queen
[Reviews - 0]

“You risked everything to be a better man and you can be. You are,” Buffy said. “You may not see it, but I do. I do.”

Spike raised his eyes to hers.

“I believe in you, Spike,” she whispered, touching his cheek gently.

Then the lights went out and the windows crashed open in the basement.

Figures with black hoods attacked Buffy.

“Buffy!” Spike yelled, trying to break free.

The bringers grabbed Buffy and dragged her toward the basement.

“Buffy!” Spike yelled, as one of his chains broke.

Buffy’s struggles weren’t strong enough to break free but they were slowing the bringers down. “Spike,” she said.

Spike freed himself and moved over to Buffy, pulling some of her attackers away from her.

Soon the bringers backed off and left.

Spike was laying on the floor with a gash from his left shoulder to the right side of his abs. He managed to get up to check on Buffy. “Are you okay?” He asked, swaying.

Buffy rushed over to him and steadied him. “Yeah,” she said, and she pulled her hand back that was covered in blood. “Oh god, Spike,” she whispered.

“I’m okay,” he said, weakly.

“Lets get you upstairs,” she said, leading him toward the stairs.

Slowly she got him up two flights of stairs and to her room. “Can you lay on the bed?”

“Buffy, I’m gunna blood all over it,” Spike said, collapsing to the floor.

“Then lay on the floor,” she muttered, going downstairs. “Is everyone okay?”

“Yeah,” Dawn said. “Is Spike okay?”

“I need to clean him up,” Buffy said, going upstairs again.

She grabbed a first aid kit and went to her room. She rolled Spike onto his back and took his shirt off. “Oh, Spike,” she said.

Buffy cleaned him the best she could and bandaged him. She didn’t want to wake him up so she rested his head on one of her pillows. She covered him with a blanket and took his boots off. She tucked the blanket around him and kissed his forehead.

Reluctantly she left him alone and went downstairs. She looked at the damage to the house but it didn’t look to bad.

Dawn approached her. “Did he go to sleep?” She asked.

Buffy nodded. “The wound was pretty deep, but I think he’ll be okay. Are you sure you’re okay?”

Dawn nodded. “You look tired.”

Buffy gave her a small smile. “I am. I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep though,” Buffy said.

“Go upstairs and get some sleep,” Dawn said.

Buffy smiled again. “You’re right. It wont hurt to try,” she said.

Upstairs, Buffy sat next to Spike and gazed at his face. “You have to be okay. I cant lose you again,” she whispered, running her fingers through his hair.

She got up and changed her clothes before laying next to him. “Goodnight Spike,” she said, kissing his forehead.

Spike began to purr as Buffy fell asleep.

In the morning, when Buffy woke, Spike wasn’t there. “Spike?” Buffy called. She pushed herself off the floor and trudged downstairs. “Spike?”

“Yeah?” Spike asked, coming out of the kitchen.

Buffy smiled in relief. “How you felling?” She asked, going over to him.

“Hurts. Couldn’t put my shirt on,” he said.

“I have a button down shirt you can wear,” Buffy said, taking him upstairs.

Spike stood in Buffy’s room as she went through her closet.

Buffy pulled a red button down shirt out. “I knew I had it,” she said.

“Is that my shirt?” Spike asked.

“Yep,” Buffy said, easing his injured left arm into the sleeve and sliding it up to his shoulder.

Spike slid his right arm in the sleeve. “Thanks. Why do you have my shirt?” He
asked, buttoning it.

“Cuz after you left, I was pretty upset and I wanted something of yours. I wore it a lot along with your duster which I still have,” she said, softly.

Spike smiled and pushed her hair back. “Thanks for keeping in,” he said, dropping his hand.

Buffy almost whimpered at the loss of his touch.

“Buffy, I have a small problem but I really don’t wanna bother you,” Spike said.

“What kind of problem?” Buffy asked.

“I cant eat,” Spike said.

“I didn’t know there was blood in the fridge,” Buffy said.

“Willow went and got some this morning. That’s not the point. Blood makes me sick,” he said.

Sympathy covered her face. “We’ll take it slow,” she said, going downstairs.

Buffy heated up a little bit of blood instead of the whole package. “Try that,” she said.

Spike sniffed it and almost gagged but he drank it anyway.

Buffy looked at him closely. “You’re really pale,” she said.

“I haven’t been able to eat. That little bit almost did me in,” he said.

Buffy went over to him a gently put her hand on his cheek. “Spike, you need to eat. I need you healthy,” she said.

“I know,” Spike said, dropping his head.

“Will I make you sick?” Buffy asked, softly.

“You never have before,” Spike said, looking up.

Buffy smiled. “I meant my blood,” she said.

“I doubt it but lets not find out,” Spike said, moving away from her.

“Spike, what did we talk about last night?” Buffy asked.

“Not that,” Spike said, not able to look at her.

“I believe in you, Spike and I trust you. Come on,” she said, pulling him up to her room.

“Buffy this isn’t a good idea,” Spike said.

Buffy shut and locked her door. “Just trust me and relax,” she said, sitting on her bed. “Come on, Spike. It’ll be okay.”

Reluctantly, Spike slid in behind her. “Are you sure?”

Buffy nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure,” she said, pulling her hair away from her neck.

Spike slid his arms around her waist and kissed her neck tenderly. He brought his demon forth and bit her gently.

Buffy moaned and melted in his arms. Both of her hands covered his and their fingers entwined.

After Spike took a few sips, he pulled his fangs out of her and licked her wound closed.

“Buffy?” He asked.

“Hm?” Buffy asked, drowsily.

“Come on. Lets get you in bed,” he said, gently easing her under the blankets.

“Stay with me,” she whispered.

Spike laid next to her and held her as she fell asleep.
