I just own Alixandra. The lucky man Joss owns the rest.
The fire was all around her. She heard a scream and cried out. "Mom! Dad! Where are you?" She ran right into the fire and saw her mom burning. Looking down at her clothes, she saw they were burning, but she wasnt. The smoke didnt bother her at all...
Alixandra woke up. She had been dreaming of when a fire started and her parents died, but she came out with not even a singed lock of hair. She didnt know what she was then. Pushing her red hair back, she remembered that was the sign of a Red-hair Fire-resistant sorceress. She cried a little, and her tears were fire. Then she remembered the girl who had Power, but didnt know how to use it. Her name was Willow. She had reddish hair, so with her Power and hair, she was one of her kind. There were so few Fire-resistant sorceresses. She should train her. But after trying to use her in a blood sacrifice, she might not want to be trained by her. Alixandra knew that the spirits of the Blood Magick abandoned her when she promised a sacrifice and that boy interrupted her ritual. She hoped that when she starts training Willow, she learns quickly. Shell have to use her magic a lot, because her best friend is a Slayer.
Willow was walking home when she saw Alixandra. She was wandering around, looking helpless. Looking up, she smiled and she got a full view of her. With red hair, green eyes, and tall, she was beautiful. Alixandra held out her hand and a small fire sprang up in her palm. She held her arm out and touched her arm with the fire for a few minutes. She smiled harder when she saw that her arm wasnt burned. She said, "Hello Willow. Its about time I found you. I have something to tell you." Willow edged away from her and Alixandra shook her head. "It isnt like Ill throw fire at you magically. Of course, if I did, you dont have to worry because your one of my kind."
Willow eyed the fire and stopped walking away. She sighed and closed her palm. The fire disappeared and she asked, "Are you sure you dont know what you are? Are you sure youre not trained? I have a spell so that no one can get in. Only another Fire-resistant sorceress can break the spell, and I may not be a master sorceress, but I know that it takes a hard ritual. So when that Slayer broke in, I was surprised. Maybe you weakened the spell." With a shake of her hand, she rattled out, "Well, I better start with the basics. You are a Red-hair Fire-resistant sorceress. As the name suggests, you are immune to fire and fire spells, though fire can burn your clothes. We should start out with simple spells, the kind you just have to concentrate and point. There are attack spells and healing spells. Ill teach you the simple healing spell."
It was a hard process. Mostly the spell would fizzle in her finger and give her a shock. Trying to lighten things up, she told her some facts about her family and sorceresses in general. Her mom was the one who taught Alixandra how to use Power. Her mom was a Brown-hair Earth-bound sorceress, so she almost only knew Earth spells. They died in an accident when she was trying to use her fire magic and it got out of control. It turned out she was the same age as Willow. And she told her that so few people had Power in the first place, and most of them were Earth-bound. Some were Light-hair Air-magic ones, and very few were Fire-resistant ones.
"That boy who saved you, does he have a girlfriend?" Alixandra remembered that he was very cute. She hoped that he didnt, but Willow didnt really tell her. She let that slide and asked if she knew if anyone could enter her in her school. She was so locked up in her magical world that she nearly forgot how things are in the mundane world. Besides, she got out of school before she could enter high school because she said there was "a death in the family", where in actuality it turned out that was when her parents died. Willow told her about Buffy.
"And it turned out that a vampire named, what? Oh, Angel, had guided her to my place, but once there was scared. My spell must have still been in effect." Alixandra knew that she had to get home, so she said good-bye to her and went home. She was getting there. The healing spell was down and a fire spell was shaky, but she knew it. Willow had told her that she would talk to someone and get her into school. She had told her something about the boy. His name was Xander. Alixandra hoped that he would like her. If he didnt, she knew a simple love spell. No one liked her because the ones who knew her knew she used Blood Magick, which is pretty powerful for someone whos not a master sorceress. At her home, she picked out a white dress with ivory designs. She put it on the edge of her bed, then wiggled into a nightgown and went to sleep.
The next day Willow and Buffy were talking when Alixandra showed up. Clutching a binder and looking totally confused, she walked up to them.
"Oh, hi Alixandra," Willow said. She chewed on her bottom lip and asked if she knew where her next class was. She spotted Xander and said, "Well, Xander might show you. His class is next to yours."
"Thank you. First days are hard, but this is ridiculous. I feel like I just moved here." Alixandra noticed that Buffy was looking warily at her. She ignored that and also noticed that when Xander saw her, he walked straight over to Willow and guided her away from her. She reached her hand out, fingertips tingling with a spell. She didnt know that Willow could feel the Power rising in her. She looked oddly at her, but she touched his arm and let loose the spell before she could do anything. He relaxed a little and she asked if he would guide her to her next class. Buffy saw the look on Willows face and started to say something, but Alixandra interrupted her. "I havent ever been in this school. I got out of my school when my parents died." The comment was designed to make Xander feel sorry for her. Looking into his eyes, she saw pain for her, but worship for Buffy. Her eyes narrowed and inconspicuously she pointed at her. All of her papers went flying and her binder nearly hit him. Smiling, she asked if he would now walk her to her next class. Still looking at Buffy, he agreed.
After school and training with Willow, she put on a knockout red dress. With a point, she cast a small irresistible spell on herself. Then she walked to the Bronze. Xander was there, with Buffy and Willow, but it was still obvious he liked Buffy, even though her binder nearly brained him. She felt a sudden rush of Power as someone cast a spell that reversed the effects of her irresistible spell. She saw Willow pointing at her. Alixandra was furious. Willow was barely trained. Sure, now she knew a Ice spell and a Earth spell, but reversing spell effects is something she shouldnt know yet. Sure, Xander might like her and he definitely likes Buffy, but with a spell and her good looks, she should be the one he likes. Alixandra silently called on the Power of Fire. A mute spell encircled Willow and a wall spell encircled herself. She smiled, knowing she cant reverse the mute spell and cant cast a spell on her. Then she walked up to Xander and started flirting with him. A rush bounced off her wall and suddenly Willow said, "So Alixandra, did you like your first day of school?"
She stared at her and stammered something about it being fine. She pointed at her and cast another mute spell. A cold feeling entered her throat and she tried to say something. Her eyes narrowed at her when she realized that Willow had cast a wall spell. She definitely shouldnt know a wall spell. Alixandra lowered her wall and cast a quick counter-spell. With a hard glance, she realized that she was casting her spells instinctively. Willow had no idea that her thoughts are turning into spells, very useful spells. Alixandra raised her wall and cast a quick spell on herself. It bounced off her wall and landed on Buffy. Suddenly she yawned and said she should go home.
"One down, one to go," she muttered under her breath. Xander was hers! But Willow still had a wall. If shes good enough that she knew spells instinctively, and they work well, she might have to use her combative magic instead of seduction. With a smile, she challenged her to a showdown. "Just you, me, and Xander. You know what Ive been doing. And youve been reversing the effects. Tomorrow, after school. First person to either demoralize or killed gets him."
"Fine. I better build up on my spells, huh?"
Alixandra simply snorted. She knew that her spells were powerful. Besides, she had been in training for years. She knew harder spells than Willow. She walked home, thinking she better wear her black dress with dark purple symbols stitched into it. The pattern was made to heat a guys blood and make her own power stronger. Xander wouldnt be able to resist her and her power would be at her strongest. A plus was that the pattern was nearly invisible, so Willow wouldnt know what she was doing until it was too late.
The next day after school, Alixandra, Willow, and Xander met in the gym. No practice for any athletics that day. Xander turned slack-jawed when Alixandra showed up. Being the last one there, she went up to Willow and said, "You actually made it. I thought you would be too chicken." Alixandra cast a spell in the direction of Xander, but somehow Willow was able to defect it. Her eyes narrowed when she knew that Xander might find her attractive, she wouldnt be able to get him by just making Willow back off and let her have him. He was so fine! Maybe the fact that Willow liked him fueled her attraction for him. She never had liked a guy before. Alixandra kept throwing spells, but Willow absorbed most of them. Some spells, like an Earth spell, she didnt absorb and an small rumbling started and the floor shook once. Once Willow threw a spell, and Alixandra wasnt ready for it, even though it was a Fire spell. It reminded her too much of her out-of-control Fire spell that consumed her family. Xander had no idea what was going on, but once the Fire spell hit her and she didnt burn, he started edging away. In her frustration, Alixandra threw a Fire spell at Willow. She absorbed that one and suddenly let out a teleporting spell and Alixandra found herself at the foot of Mount Everest. She didnt know how to get back, and she resigned, knowing Willow had won.
Back at Sunnydale, Willow was dropping her arm. She had won. She went over to Xander and said, "Dont worry. She wont be coming back. She was a sorceress who tried to teach me spells because Im suppose to be one of her kind. A good Fire-resistant sorceress," she addend when she noticed the surprise on his face. She told him what she had been doing and ended with, "Nobody messes with my Xander." She smiled and walked out of the gym, explaning things about herself and Fire-resistant sorceresses.
