A girl walked through the Bronze. Spotting Buffy, Willow, and Xander, she smiled and walked forward far enough to hear what they were saying. She smiled harder when she learned that Buffy was a Slayer, Willow was a computer nerd, and Xander was just someone with a quick wit. "Perfect," she muttered under her breath. She thought that no one was going to stop her. Then she walked out and off to her house. It was in a spot where no one would bother her. In her room, she gathered a wand, a broadsword, some herbs, and her robe. Her name was Alixandra. She was a sorceress, and she needed a sacrifice.
"Power calls to Power. I call to Willow. Bind her to my will, oh spirits, and have a sacrifice. By Fire, by Water, by Earth, by Air, I call on you to bine her to me," she said as she carefully made intricate motions in the air. Cupping her hands, she ran her hands through the last of her last victims blood and spread it over the herbs and her sword, then she burned the herbs. With the last of her herbs burned, she uncast her circle and laid down to sleep.
The next day after school, Willow spotted Alixandra by a tree. She was stripping the bark off and stashing it in a bag. Willow felt like that she was somebody, that she wanted something.
"Hey Willow, snap out of it," Xander said. Willow shook her head and asked how Buffy was doing.
"The usual. Slayed two vampires last night and a possible demon. Nothing different," Buffy reported. Willow smiled and felt a tugging in her mind. It felt like someone wanted her to do something. It scared her, but she ignored it and talked a bit to Buffy and Xander, then she walked to her house, which was right past Alixandra. She felt a sharp pain as she pulled a hair from her head. Willow spun quickly around, but she wasnt there. She felt like Alixandra was daring her, perhaps in a contest of wills, but she was able to shrug the feeling off. Xander caught up to her.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked. She wanted to say something, but from the girl disappearing into air and the contest of wills, she was extremely scared and wanted to be left alone. Xander suddenly stumbled backwards like he was punched. Willow ran off to her house, but she felt that she had made Xander stumble.
Alixandra was in a rage. It should have been easy to make Willow come to her just by pulling on her will a little. But no, she had to be strong enough that her spell rebounded off her and left her just a little shaken! She wasnt even trained. Alixandra now had to get into High Magick. She took the strand of hair she had gotten off Willow and used that in a carefully crafted spell she had used countless times before.
" The Power in her is great. Give me Power to bind her to my will. Fire, Earth, Air, Water, make the spell stronger," she chanted. Alixandra felt the power rush though her and she was glad. She dismissed the elements and waited for a knock on the door. It never came. Even though the spell was at its strongest, Willow had been able to resist the spell. Alixandra flew into another rage and felt that she had to go out there and somehow knock her out.
Willow talked to Xander the next day. He felt a little better, but he reported that his stomach still hurt a little. She felt better, knowing that whatever she did, it didnt permanently damage him. Feeling a rush, she looked at Xander. He said his stomach had stopped hurting. Shaken by the fact that she was doing that, Willow walked though her classes in a daze.
While walking to the Bronze, Willow felt a presence behind her. Turning around, she saw that no one was there. Freaked out, she walked faster until a fire sprung around her. She turned around and saw Alixandra.
"You are amazing. I have seen nothing like your Power," she said. Alixandra swept her finger up and down her body. Willow suddenly couldnt move. Alixandra looked relived as she said, "I was worried that spell wouldnt work on you. Youve already resisted two of my strongest spells." She stepped forward and put her fingertips on her forehead. Willow instantly fell asleep.
At the Bronze, Buffy and Xander were wondering where Willow was. Buffy looked up and spotted Angel. She walked over to him and said, "Hi."
"Willows in trouble."
"Nice. What is it this time? Vampires, witches, or"
"She was kidnapped. By a witch or sorceress."
Buffy sighed, told Xander what happened, and went to where Angel said Alixandra had taken Willow. The house that he said it was where she was taken looked like no one was home. Then Buffy got a glimpse of a shadow moving past one of the windows. Buffy kicked in the door and walked inside.
In her room, Alixandra heard a loud noise. She forgot about it as she picked up her knife. She was wearing a black shift. Willow was laying down on a table in a sleeveless white shift. Knife slicing though the air, she cut Willows arm. The blood drained into a bowl she had set under the table. Alixandra picked up her broadsword and held it a few feet over Willow. Then she slowly brought it down in a direct line toward her heart.
Buffy and Xander burst into the room. Alixandra turned and knew they were here to rescue her. She pointed at the ground and a fire started. It went around the entire perimeter of the circle. She smiled and turned back to Willow. Raising her sword, she dropped it slowly.
"No! Stop!" Xander cried. She turned again and looked at him. She pointed at him and he stumbled backwards.
"You really shouldnt interrupt a ritual," she said and raised her sword. It was still stained with blood, so it added quite an effect. Alixandra was pressed for time, so she turned back to Willow and dropped her sword again. But she was interrupted by Xander running into her. He had braved the flames so he can rescue her. Alixandra went flying into the flames. She screamed as the flames scorched her shift. She was able to stand up before she was really damaged, but not in time to stop him from picking her up and carrying her out of the flames and tying a piece of cloth around her arm. Alixandra screamed in rage and died down the flames.
Buffy and Xander had taken Willow to a hospital. They waited, hoping that too much blood had been lost. A doctor came out and said that she was fine and that she was awake. They went to her room to talk to her. She was propped up with an IV in her wrist. On her arm was a huge bandage.
"How do you feel?"
"Awful."
"Do you remember what happened?"
"I was walking to the Bronze, and from the moment I passed a huge dumpster to the moment I woke up is a total blank.
Buffy sighed and knew that it was probably the best that Willow didnt know what happened. She looked at Xander and he nodded. Willow sat up taller and said, "I remember that a girl said I had Power she hadnt seen before." Buffy was worried, but she had no idea that her Power is what saved her a few times and that it would save her again.
