It happened last night, when I was walking home.
My friends had ditched me so I walked alone.
I was getting hot in the summer night air,
So I took off my jacket and clipped up my hair.
I heard behind me the softest sound,
A footstep from no where, so I turned around.
A monster was there, I was too scared to scream.
He opened his mouth and I saw his teeth gleam.
He pulled me towards him and I felt the pain
As though my life and my soul were both being drained.
Then all of a sudden, my neck pain ceased
An I fell to the floor with my strength decreased.
I looked up and saw that the monster was gone.
Above me was a girl with a tank top on.
She helped me up; it was hard to stand.
I started to fall, so she grabbed my hand.
"You'll be OK," she insisted,"you'll see
I know what you've been through, it's happened to me.
Just go home tonight and get some rest.
Tommorow, you'll feel better, but you won't look your best."
She walked me home, I'd begun to tire.
I asked her softly, "Was it a vampire?"
Without a word, she nodded her head.
Then I thanked her. Without her I would have been dead.
We reached my house, I unlocked my door.
When I turned, I saw darkness and nothing more.
I stood for a moment, then went inside.
I felt I would faint and wanted to cry.
That night, I'd made a momentary friend.
Too bad, we would never meet again.
I realized that never again would I see
The face of the Slayer, the one who'd saved me.
