This poem is from my own imagination. The characters in it are people that I have borrowed to write it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the night is as dark as sin,
When the sun has gone and the stars have set in,
I've seen a man who is one with the night,
Who walks down the street with a face that is white.
He strolls down the road with the air of a man
Who has style and charm with a rose in his hand.
He looks rather young, no more than twenty-five
But centuries wade in his soft ancient eyes.
With hair that is straight and a smile that's only his
He meets his lover, unlikely as she is.
She knew he was coming, she sensed he was near
She could that feel his eyes were watching her here.
He kisses her "Hello" and away they walk
To a quiet place on the beach to talk.
Head on head and hand in hand
Until dawn, they stay alone on the sand.
This for me is a nightly scene.
When he walks alone he looks cold and mean
But in her presence it seems as though,
After years of being captive, she has finally let him go.
