This all belongs to Joss, his marvellous character, who inspire my pathetic attempt to translate their ideas, beliefs and emotions. WB has latched onto Joss' creativity and also claim the characters!

Walls of difference separated them. So thick, and strong that it would seem invincible. Tortured and cruel circumstances had plagued them. Past lovers, present friends, relationships, alliances and enemies had plotted against them. Simple quarrels and violent disputes had attempted to drive them apart. Even death itself had played a crucial role in determining their fate. Destiny had decided their personal paths long before anyone would know, but not even destiny could foresee such a union of magnitude. How two people joined by only the thinnest of lines, could surpass every pre-chosen and spontaneous event that would thwart their partnership.
Physically, they were the complete opposite of each other. Dark, brooding, tall, menacing at times, gently serene. A victim of his own crimes, two halves of one body, he watched through killers eyes for thousands of years, then endured the consequences through his own. Alone, desolate, outwardly courageous, inwardly frightened at the pit of evil that lurked inside him.
She appeared to him, when she was young, a child. So innocent, free of what he knew was to come for her. The worst prophecy, that at moments to outsiders would seem admirable and even enjoyable yet this was no picnic. She would end up living by rules; regulations, by timeclocks and standards she had no business in setting. Her life would forever change, never to retain that innocence, and purity she had when he first saw her. Yet as he watched her grow , he saw before him a woman like no other.
Her diminutive frame, ocean blue eyes, sun kissed hair and glowing complexion belittled her true self. A fighting machine trained to protect good and defeat evil. Lines that in black and white were so simplistic. Yet removed from the page, they held barely any instructional value to the Slayer. Her world had always been different, even before the universe greatest duty was bestowed upon her. She was unable to find her place, a home where everything fitted together perfectly, something was causing a void. Soon filled by her title, she regretted nothing. Begrudge, whinge and moan, however it was her duty, task and job, and she put her entire being into it. Only a few short years had hardened her, she was stronger, tougher yet she managed to retain a fresh sense of naivety about her role. A chance meeting had changed her forever. The sudden jolt she received by just his eyes astounded and rocked her to her idealistic foundations. The lines that she had followed she clearly, like gospel, now were blurred and fuzzy, they needed re-interpretation and she would find only within herself the true meaning.
Such heavy burdens, sacrifices and emotions brought together with logical reasons and humble excuses offered them an easier path. To erase the other from their minds and forge on with their existence. Yet nothing would hold back these two, not violence, betrayal, hatred, torture or even destiny. Through layers, walls, bars, cells, mountains, enemies and lovers they would always find themselves in the same place, each others arms.
