Shadow Valley

It was the beginning of the 17th century the land was overcast with shadows. Anguish terror and sorrow filled the hearts of the people. People didn't travel alone in fear of their life being taken from an unknown force that dwelled in the nearby mountains. People stayed in their village only venturing into the mountains for supplies that was needed for severe illnesses. A person went missing each day that passed by. The people's faith was dying because greed and evil poisoned the village leader. Count Louis Blake III was by far the richest man in the valley he owned a giant manor on the finest land. One day he decided to go to the local tavern to mingle with the peasants and listen to their folk stories. The count sat in the farthest corner in the room to go unnoticed. He just got his usual two pints when two unusual but irresistible young ladies walked in. He decided to introduce himself after all he was the most stunning one there with his long dark locks, bright green eyes, and muscular body. As he approached them he knew they were not from around these parts. They were both very tall nearly as tall as him and he was 6"3. One of the girls had fiery red hair, pale skin, sky blue eyes with full red lips and a small sleek body dressed completely in black silk. The other had long black curly hair with big hazel eyes and a small waist with nicely curved hips she too was dressed in a sheer black silk dress." Hello, may I introduce myself?" "I am Count Louis III and it is my pleasure to meet you fine young ladies." The first girl introduced herself to the count. "Hi, my name is Gabrielle and this is my friend and her name is Joan." Joan, with her hazel eyes smiled softly at the count after being introduced. The count said "Your not from around these parts hey?" Gabrielle replied "No, we are just down visiting my sick cousin that lives down the road, he doesn't have much time left the doctor said." "So we had to come and see him while we still had the chance to." The count asked the two girls "Can i treat you young ladies to a drink of some sort?" The girls said "Sure we'll have a drink with you." And they all went to where the count was sitting before. They all were having a conversation. Until someone came busting into the tavern screaming and yelling , the man said "There are two dead men in the barn!" "They both had the blood drained out of their bodies. This caused a commotion in the tavern and everyone started to get paranoid and they all ran off to their homes. So the count went to go and check out the two dead bodies, when he arrived at the barn he saw the most horrifying scene. The two men lay there motionless with the look of fear on there faces and they had teeth marks on their necks. The count went around investigating and asking people what they know about the marks on their necks. The people were terrified, one of the villagers said "There is an urban legend of two vampire sisters that dwell in the mountains feeding on whoever gets in their way." "The two girls are very attractive so you wouldn't be able to resist them if they tried to lure you into their trap." "They can be very persuasive and they always get what they want." Then the count noticed that the two girls had left the tavern and they were never seen again. So he asked the villager "Who told you this legend of the two vampires that lived nearby?" The villager said "My parents told me before they disappeared twenty years ago, I haven't seen them since then." The Count thanked the villager and gave him a few gold coins for his troubles. The count left for home feeling very disturbed and shaken, how could he not know about this menace? The count had about ten miles to go before he was home when his horse started going wild and bucked him off. That was when strange unnatural sounds came from the woods surrounding him. "Who’s there"?! Said the count. "Don't worry sir it is just we" The sisters came out of the woods but they were no longer beautiful for there faces were now disfigured with long sharp teeth and yellow glowing eyes. "Stay away from me! Back demons stay back!" The count was scared for he knew these were the creatures terrorizing the village and its people. "HAHAHAHAHA don't worry Louis we just want to take you up on that drink you offered us" Again the sisters laughed wildly and closed in on the count for the kill. The sisters had the count in there grasp and were set to take his blood when the sisters were knocked back. Louis looked up and saw his saviors: a girl with long black hair and a man with a staff. The girl was fighting the vampire Gabrielle with fists and kicks. Louis was shocked again for the unknown girl's strength and speed seemed to match that of the vampire. Louis looked to the left and was shocked once more to see the man fighting the other vampire sister with not brute strength but powerful magicks and spells. The fight continued between the pairs, and the black-haired girl pulled out a wooden stake and staked the vampire known as Gabrielle. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Screamed the other vampire known as Joan as her sister turned to dust. While she was screaming the sorcerer pulled out his own stake and staked the remaining vampire. Louis watched as the duo walked to him and helped him to his feet. "Thank you! Thank you! They were about to kill me! please tell me your names, here let me pay you for saving my life" Louis tried to hand them coins but they refused. "My name is William and my companion here is Isobel, we cannot accept your coins for the slaying of these hell beasts, for it is our sworn duty as Watcher and Slayer, we travel the lands searching and destroying the evils and forces of darkness" exclaimed the Watcher. "Well please, come into the village, you can stay at the inn I'll pay for your room its the least I could do. The townspeople will be happy to hear that the reign of the vampires is finally over!" The two thought it over and decided they would like to eat and rest for they had traveled long to reach this place. They reached the village and Louis told the villagers that the time of the vampires had ended. William and Isobel went to their rooms and settled in for the night. The count Louis spread the word of the Slayer and her watcher who had slayen the vampires and freed the village from oppression. The town was happy that the vampires were gone, but to them the danger was not gone, Word reached the Priest and he went mad and was in fear to hear about these heathens the Slayer and her watcher..."Beware!" intoned the wild-eyed Priest to the villagers, His voice was at a fever pitch "A vampire is a heinous beast, but worse yet is a witch! This slayer and watcher have power like none before, tis evil, they walk with darkness, Satan’s whores. They are here to damn us all! There’s but one way to save this town and please our lord above, these people must be captured and placed at the pyre, also capture the one known as Count Louis for it is he who have brought these witches here." And so a mob was formed and the ones known as William, Isobel and Louis were captured and tied to the pyre and burnt as witches by the village they saved.....
THE END?
Epilogue
The urban legend of the two vampire sisters that the villagers spoke of was only partially correct, for it seems that there was not just two sisters that dwelled within the mountain but a whole coven of female vampires who visited the village two at a time...and now the rest of this coven was Very Angry and Crazed that their sisters Gabrielle and Joan were slain...so in vengeance the vampire coven descended upon the village of Shadow Valley and left none alive.
