Buffy and Sam walked through the cemetery near Spike’s crypt. “I wish things were different,” Buffy said, answering Sam’s question and a demon jumped in front of them. “Shit!”
Both women took a fighting stance and the demon attacked them.
After about 15 minutes, the demon had Buffy beaten and bruises.
Riley had shown up and he was just barely fighting it off.
“Spike!” Buffy screamed, from the ground.
At Spike’s crypt, his head snapped up. He threw his book, and grabbed his duster.
He got to the scene just as the demon threw Buffy about 20 feet.
Buffy struggled to get up and but the demon kicked her in the ribs.
Spike vamped and charged at the demon. He beat the crap out of hit before snapping it’s neck.
He devamped and went over to Buffy’s side. “Pet?”
Buffy opened her eyes and a smile appeared on her face. “You’re here.”
Riley and Sam came over to them. “Spike, get away from her,” he said.
Buffy closed her eyes as a look of hurt passed through Spike. “Spike,” she whispered.
Spike growled and stood up. “I’m sure Riley can take you home,” he said.
Same helped Buffy up but she was hurt badly. She stumbled a little bit but braced herself. “Spike,” she said, staggering her way over to him. “Just listen to me before you jump to any conclusions.”
Spike crossed his arms. “Why I do something like that?” He asked, casually.
Riley looked at Sam then back at Buffy. “You need to go the hospital, Buffy,” he said, stepping closer to her.
“Spike can take care of me. You guys continue the search,” she said, not looking away from Spike.
Sam went up to her husband. “Yeah, we don’t have time to waist,” she said, leading Riley away from Buffy and Spike.
Spike waited until they were out of ear shot. “Who was she?”
“Riley’s wife,” Buffy said, crossing her arms.
“Oh,” Spike said, avoiding her gaze.
“Yeah. He asked me to help fight a demon. It wasn’t what you thought,” she said, walking closer to him. “Are you gunna take care of me or what?”
Spike sighed and wrapped his arm around her waist. “Lemme know if I hurt you,” he said.
Buffy rested most of her weight on Spike and he lead her to his crypt. She was breathing heavily by the time they got inside.
“Can you make it downstairs?” Spike asked.
“I don’t know,” Buffy whispered, in pain.
Spike jumped down first in case she fell.
Buffy painfully made her way down the ladder and collapsed against him as she neared the bottom.
Spike scooped her up and carried her to the bed. Gently he laid her down. “What hurts?”
“Everything,” Buffy said, pushing herself up.
Spike grabbed a first aid kit and looked at her as he took off his duster. “What are you wearing?”
“I don’t know, but I gotta get it off,” she said.
Spike slid behind her and found a release. Gently he peeled it off and frowned at the bruises forming on her golden skin.
“How bad?” Buffy asked, relaxing in his arms.
“They aren’t broken but you need to rest for at least a day,” he said, running his hands over her ribs.
Buffy leaned back against him. “I’m not leaving you,” she whispered.
Spike carefully wrapped his arms around her and kissed her hair.
Buffy turned her head and kissed him softly. “If you help me get the rest of these clothes off, I’ll stay with you tonight and tomorrow,” she said.
Spike kissed her again and removed her remaining clothes. Gently he laid her down, stripped out of his own clothes, and slid next to her. “Goodnight, Pet,” he whispered, kissing her hair.
“Goodnight, Spike,” she said, snuggling deep into his arms.
