Spike wandered around his cemetery and a group of vampires came at him.
“Well mates, looks like it’s my lucky night,” he said, as he duster flew about him as he fought
them.
Buffy and Sam approached a few seconds later and helped. “Spike?” Buffy asked.
“Hello, Pet. Nice of you to drop by,” he said, staking his vampire.
After a few minutes, Buffy was held at the throat as the vamp squeezed the life outta her.
Suddenly, she fell to the ground and began coughing.
Riley stood over her with a stake. “Buffy?”
Spike came over and helped her up. “You okay, Pet?”
Buffy’s coughs soon died down as Spike’s fingered her throat looking for any damage.
“I’m okay,” she rasped.
Spike rested a hand on hers. “You sure?”
Buffy nodded and coughed a few more times. “Yeah,” she said, squeezing his hand.
Riley looked on with disgust. “What’s going on?”
Spike looked at Riley and growled. “We were fighting vampires and one was choking her,” he
said.
Buffy realized that he was hurt and she turned his face toward her. “What about you? That cut looks bad,” she said, gently touching the gash on his forehead.
Spike smiled a little. “It’ll heal,” he said.
Riley pulled Buffy away from Spike. “Buffy, what is going on?”
Buffy yanked her arm free. “Just what Spike said,” she growled.
“Why is he even here?” Riley asked.
“None of your business,” Buffy said.
Spike went over to Buffy. “You want me take you home?” He asked.
Buffy smiled a little. “Not yet,” she said. “I’m gunna finish helping them look for the nest.”
“What nest?” Spike asked.
“We’re looking for a demon nest and if the eggs hatch, Sunnydale is toast,” Buffy said.
“Clem just brought a few eggs to my place, but I don’t know what they are,” he said.
Riley and Sam looked at each other. “Show us,” Sam said.
Spike took them to his crypt and downstairs.
“Those are it,” Sam said. “We’re gunna destroy them with magic.”
Buffy looked at Spike as same and Riley did their magic. “Spike?”
“Hm?” He asked.
“You okay?” She asked.
“I don’t know,” Spike said, looking at Riley.
Buffy rested a hand on his arm. “He’s here on work. Don’t worry,” she said.
Spike looked down at her and managed a small smiled.
Buffy smiled and leaned against him as Riley and Sam finished.
Riley looked over at them and frowned. “Our mission is complete. We’ll be leaving shortly,” he said.
“When?” Buffy asked.
“An hour maybe,” Sam said.
“We’ll go back to my place and fill everyone in,” she said, pulling Spike toward the ladder.
“Buffy?” Spike questioned.
Buffy silenced them with a kiss. “Shhh. Its time the gang knew so I don’t have to keep sneaking back in the house,” she said.
“I love you,” Spike whispered.
“I know,” Buffy said, smiling.
