Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Six
She'll be fine by Spikes Queen
[Reviews - 0]

When Buffy woke, she sat up quickly and looked at her surroundings. She looked down at a slumbering Spike and smiled. She laid back down and snuggled up against him. He murmured her name and pulled her closer to him. She sighed and went back to sleep.

The next time she woke, Spike was awake and running a hand over her hair. She noticed the building around them. “Spike?” She mumbled.

“Yeah, Pet?” Spike asked, kissing her hair.

“What time is it?” She asked.

“Don’t know, but the sun is down. I should probably get you home and make sure Dawn’s okay,” he said.

Buffy frowned. “What?” She whispered.

Spike frowned and his eyes widened. “Pet, as wonderful as last night was, we did leave Dawn alone for almost two days.” He pushed her back a little and kissed her softly. “Hopefully, if you don’t hate my guts, we’ll do it again, just not in a collapsing building,” he said, smiling.

Buffy sighed with relief. “So I was ok?” She asked, softly.

“Why are you acting like… Oh. Never mind.” He kissed her softly. “Trust me. Any guy who gives you up doesn’t have eyes.”

Buffy smiled and kissed him, softly.

Eventually they got up and got dressed.

“You know our first time wasn’t supposed to be like this,” she said, wincing as she pulled a muscle.

Spike frowned at her wince. “You okay?”

Buffy looked at him. “Spike, no one has ever made love to me like that. It was new and I have muscles I didn’t even know existed,” she said, as they carefully climbed out of the rubble.

Out on the sidewalk, Spike paused and went in the opposite direction of Buffy’s house. “Spike?” Buffy asked.

“Hold on, Luv. Something’s wrong,” Spike said, picking up Dawn’s blood and fear. “It’s Dawn.”

“What?” Buffy asked.

“She’s in trouble,” Spike said, following her scent.

Buffy followed him and they ended up downtown. Spike heard Dawn scream and ran toward her. “Dawn!” He saw her being attacked by a demon. He crouch next to her. “Nibblet?”

Buffy tackled the demon. “Dawn, you okay?”

“Willow made the car drive..” Dawn whispered.

“Sweetie let me see your arm,” Spike said.

“No!” Dawn screamed.

“Lil Bit, come on. Just let me see,” Spike said, gently tackling her arm. “We gotta get you to a hospital,” he said, scooping her up in his arms. “Buffy! I gotta get Dawn to a hospital!”

“Dawnie,” Willow said, stumbling from the car as the demon magically disappeared.

“Don’t come near her,” Spike growled.

“Dawn,” Buffy said, coming over to them.

“She’ll be fine but I gotta get her to a hospital,” Spike said, as he starting walking.

“Dawnie, I’m so sorry,” Willow said.

Spike glared at her. “I swear to god, if you hurt her again, I’ll kill you,” Spike growled, walking away.

Buffy ignored Willow and went with Spike and Dawn.

After about 45 minutes, Spike and Buffy were still in the waiting room of the hospital. Spike was pacing, driving Buffy insane. “Spike, just sit down and still. She’ll be fine,” Spike said.

“Buffy, I almost lost her tonight because of Willow,” Spike said.

Buffy reached her hand out and grabbed his. “Spike, look at me,” she said.

Spike’s eyes met hers. “What?”

Buffy pulled him closer to her. “She’s alive. I’ll deal with Willow later. Just sit down cuz you’re making me worry,” she said.

Spike sat next to her and sighed. “Fine, you win,” he said.

Buffy leaned against him as they waited.

After another hour, the doctor came out and came over to them.

Spike stood up with Buffy. “How is she?” He asked.

“She’s fine. Just a fracture,” The doctor said

Buffy sighed in relief and leaned against Spike. “Thank God. Can we take her home?” Buffy asked.

The doctor nodded. “She has to come back in a few weeks for a check up,” he said.

Buffy nodded. “I just wanna get her home,” she said.

The doctor led Buffy and Spike to a room where Dawn was sitting on the bed with her arm in a sling. “Hey guys,” she said.

“Hey, Nibblet. Ready to go home?” Spike asked.

Dawn nodded. “Yeah. I’m tired,” she whispered.

Spike smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulders and led them outside.

About 20 minutes later, Spike carried a sleeping Dawn through the front door of the Summer’s house.

Willow came out of the kitchen. “Is she okay?” She asked.

“Stay away from her,” Spike growled, pulling Dawn closer.

“I’m sorry,” Willow said.

Buffy laid a hand on Spike’s arm. “Take Dawn upstairs and put her in bed,” she said, softly.

Spike shot daggers at Willow and carried Dawn upstairs.

“Willow, how could you?!” Buffy flared.

“I didn’t mean to!” Willow said, tears in her eyes.

“You almost killed her! If Spike hadn’t sensed her in trouble, Dawn could’ve died. It’s mine and Spike’s responsibility to take care of her. If anything happens to Dawn, Spike is gunna after whoever did it but then blame himself. There is something seriously wrong with you and until you fix it, it’s not safe for you to stay her,” Buffy said.

“You want me to move out?” Willow asked.

“Until you get better,” Buffy said, going upstairs.

Spike was sitting on Dawn’s bed, stroking her hair, holding her hand.

“Spike?” Buffy asked, softly.

Spike looked over at her. “Sorry,” he said, beginning to get up.

“No, its okay. You don’t have to move. Is she okay?” Buffy asked, going over to him.

“She’s tired. And I swear on my unlife, if Willow hurts her again, I will kill her,” he growled.

“I told her to move out. Dawn will be safe now,” Buffy said.

Spike looked up at her. “She should’ve been safe to begin with. I shouldn’t of had to worry about Dawn while she’s under Willow’s care,” he said, looking back at Dawn.

Buffy wrapped her arms around Spike’s shoulders. “I know. Since Willow’s moving out, you wanna move it? It’ll make you feel better to be near me and Dawn,” she said, kissing his hair.

Spike titled his head back. “Do you really want me to?” He asked.

Buffy smiled. “Yeah. Come on. I’m tired and we had a rough night. Lets go to bed,” she said, coaxing him off the bed.

Spike reluctantly allowed Buffy to lead him to her room where they crawled into bed.

Soon Buffy was sound asleep in Spike’s arms.

After a few hours, Dawn poked her head in Buffy’s room.

Spike lifted his head from Buffy’s hair. “Nibblet? Couldn’t sleep?”

Dawn nodded and Spike noticed her eyes red and puffy. “Come here,” he said, softly.

Carefully, Dawn climbed in next to him and was asleep instantly. Spike kissed her hair and went back to sleep.
