Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Six
INTO SOMETHING by Spikes Queen
[Reviews - 2]

Buffy jumped down to the lower level and her eyes widened at Spike sleeping.

She went over and sat next to him. “Spike?”

He didn’t answer.

Buffy gently shook his shoulder. “Please, Spike I need your help. Wake up,” she said.

Spike eyes fluttered open. “Buffy?”

“Dawn’s missing,” Buffy asked. “Do you know anyone named Rack?”

“Yeah. Why?” Spike asked, pushing himself into a sitting position.

“Willow took her there,” Buffy said.

“Dawn’s in big trouble,” Spike said, flying out of bed.

Buffy blushed as Spike got dressed. “Why?”

Spike pulled on a shirt and his boots. “Rack’s dangerous,” Spike said. “Lets go. We don’t have a lot of time,” he said, going up the ladder.

Buffy wasn’t far behind.

Spike and Buffy were downtown and Spike felt the force. He grabbed Buffy’s hand and pulled her in.

Buffy gripped his hand and they ended up in a waiting room. She didn’t let go of Spike’s hand, but she did see Dawn.

“Nibblet?” Spike asked.

Dawn’s eyes came up. “Oh thank god you guys are here,” she said going over to them. “Willow was supposed to take me to the movie and we’ve been here fore hours. I’m scared and I wanna go home.”

“Spike, watch Dawn,” Buffy said, going over to the door.

A man stood up. “Wait you’re turn,” he said.

Buffy’s foot shot through he door, banging it open.

Willow came out of her trance and looked at Buffy. “Hey Buffy,” she said drearily. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m taking Dawn home,” she said, angrily. “Are you coming?”

“No, you go ahead,” Willow said, smiling at Rack.

Buffy’s face scrunched up in disgust. “Fine,” she said, going back out to Spike and Dawn.

Dawn was in Spike’s arms and he was rubbing her back.

“We can go,” Buffy said.

Spike moved away from Dawn and she stumbled. “Tired Nibblet?” He asked.

“Yeah,” Dawn said, closing her eyes.

Spike carried Dawn through the front door of the Summer’s house and gently set her on the floor when Buffy closed her door. “You okay?”

Dawn nodded. “I just got really freaked out,” she said.

Spike ran a hand over her hair. “Well Buffy and I were there. We’re lucky we found you alive,” he said, going to sit on the couch.

Dawn went over and sat in his lap. “What was Willow doing?”

“Very dangerous magic,” Spike said. “We could have lost you.”

Buffy went over to him. “Spike, its okay,” she said, sitting next to him. “We got there in time.”

Spike looked at her. “We shouldn’t of had to go get her,” he growled. “They’re lucky she wasn’t harmed.”

Dawn picked her head. “What would you have done if something had happened to me?” She asked, already knowing the answer.

“I would’ve killed him,” Spike said.

“Would you have killed Willow?” Buffy asked,

“If I had to, to protect Dawn,” Spike said, meeting her eyes.

Dawn looked at Buffy. “Buffy, Spike takes care of me so don’t be mad,” she said.

“I’m not,” Buffy said, as Willow came in.

“Dawnie, why did you leave?” Willow asked.

Spike stood up and stalked over to her. “She left because Buffy and I came to get her,” he said. “Why would you bring her to a place like that?”

“I thought she might like a little girl fun,” Willow said.

“Fun, is me taking Dawn to a movie or something. Not a place like that,” Spike growled.

Willow slapped Spike across the face.

Buffy got up and went to Spike’s side. “Willow?!”

“Spike, you are not part of Dawn’s family. Why do you act like she still needs you?” Willow asked.

Dawn went over to Spike. “He is apart of our family and I do need him. If it wasn’t for him Buffy probably would’ve never found me before you killed me,” she said, standing in front of Spike..

Spike was upset and pushed passed the three girls.

“Spike,” Buffy said, going after him.

Spike paused on the front porch. “She’s right,” he said, softly.

“No, she’s not,” Buffy said.

“You’re back and Dawn doesn’t need me. Maybe I should just go,” he said.

“Spike, please don’t,” Buffy said, approaching him. “Come on. We’ll go in and put Dawn to bed,” she said, pulling him inside.

Dawn was sitting on the stairs and smiled when he came back in.

“Spike’s gunna tuck you in and I’m gunna talk to Willow,” Buffy said, following them upstairs.

Willow had decided to go to England to control her magic so Tara was on her way over.

Buffy left the two witches alone and went to Dawn’s room, where Spike was watching over her. “Spike?”

Spike looked at her and they quietly left the room. Spike followed Buffy to her room and sat on her bed.

“She called Giles and she’s going to England to get some help,” she said. “So you don’t have to leave.”

“Isn’t that what you told me to do?” Spike asked, softly.

“But that was between us and I was upset,” Buffy said.
Spike raised an eyebrow. “Because of me?”

“No, Spike,” she said going over to him. “It’s not you but I don’t think it’s a good idea for us to have a relationship. Not when I’m like this. If we sleep together, the next day, I’m gunna think that I made a mistake. I need to be sure because I don’t wanna hurt you,” she said.

“So whaddaya want me to do?” Spike asked. “Cuz I can wait.”

Buffy smiled. “I need to take baby steps,” she said, wrapping her arms around him. “You make me happy and I don’t think I’ll find anyone better.”

Spike kissed her softy. “Neither will I. Buffy, you’re an amazing woman and I’m never giving up on you,” he said softly. “Or us.”

Buffy smiled. “That’s’ what I wanna hear.”
