Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Future
Three Wishes by Beer Good

Gumboy came up with a great challenge a few weeks ago, and which I present here in slightly edited form:

"...Joss Whedon revealed that he had planned to bring Tara back from the dead at the end of Season 7. The episode would have centered around Buffy being granted one "life-altering" wish. Buffy would have struggled the whole episode trying to decide what she wanted to do with the wish (including, possibly, restoring Angel's humanity). The episode would have ended with Buffy telling Willow that she'd just gotten a great new pair of shoes, and when Willow asked her if she used up her wish on new shoes, Buffy would have said, "No, silly!" and stepped aside to reveal Tara."

So my challenge to y'all is the following:
Write a story about one character in the Buffyverse getting the chance to make a "life-altering wish" and what happens thereafter.

The rules:
1. Life-altering only. No wishes to eliminate evil or all shrimp throughout the world. No changing of history.
2. Prefer BTVS-Future or ATS-Future
3. No slash please, unless character appropriate.

Well, I came up with no less than three separate stories, and I'm quite happy with two of them. They're completely unrelated to each other, but I thought I'd collect them here all the same.

"Birthday Girl" is the story of yet another Buffy birthday going horribly wrong.

"Shooting Star" is about Willow, Tara, Kennedy and some choices. And a wish, obviously.

And then there's one about Angel, for which I apologise in advance. I know it's dumb, but I liked the punchline. Or lack thereof.
