Spike knocked on Buffy’s door and waited patiently for her to open it.
Buffy opened her door and smiled.
“Are you okay?” They both asked each other.
Buffy laughed softly and let Spike enter her room. “I’m fine,” she said, closing the door.
“Me too. Just a scratch,” Spike said.
Buffy sat on her bed and looked up at him. “I didn’t have anything to do with what happened tonight,” she said.
Spike smiled and sat next to her. “I know. I think I know you well enough that if you want something done, you’d do it yourself,” he said, softly.
Buffy smiled and went to the window. “I don’t get it,” she said.
Spike stood up and hesitantly put his hands on her shoulders. “The first is screwing with everyone’s minds,” he said.
Buffy leaned against him and smiled when he put his arms around her. “What’s Giles’ excuse?” She asked.
“Rupert?” Spike asked.
Buffy turned and looked at him. “Giles took me on patrol so that we weren’t together,” she said, softly.
Spike looked down at her. “Oh,” he said, softly.
Buffy put her hands on his chest. “Spike, don’t worry about it. I can’t have people going against me right now. I ‘m already tired and sore. I don’t need emotional stress,” she said.
Spike smiled a little. “You should get some sleep,” he said.
Buffy rolled her eyes and smiled. “I know I should but I don’t sleep anymore,” she said, turning toward the window again.
Spike gently undid her braid and he unclasped her necklace. “When was the last time you’ve had a good night’s rest?” He asked, putting her necklace on her desk.
“Maybe before Riley left me,” she said, softly.
Spike raised an eyebrow. “You’ve slept lots of times. I’ve seen you,” he said.
Buffy smiled. “That’s only because I was with you. Different when I sleep next to you. I’m at peace with you. Sleeping alone brings nightmares, cold sweats and tears,” she trailed off softly.
Spike went up to her. “Buffy,” he said, softly.
Buffy turned around. “Please? It’s not like we’re gunna do anything,” she whispered.
Spike still looked kinda skeptical. “If it’ll help you sleep,” he said, softly.
Buffy smiled. “Thanks. I’m gunna go change,” she said, going to the bathroom.
When she came back, she climbed in the bed and lifted the blanket.
Spike slid in next to her and Buffy was sleeping as soon as she was snuggled in his arms.
