Reality is just a dream now. A shadow of mist, blurring the edges of truth with metaphors. Your kiss intoxicates my senses, making me blind to my own actions. My limbs controlled by the wave of your hand.
A waterfall of laughter trickles over your lips, each trill, each drop or note I crave. I dream of tasting it like a man dying of thirst. Just one taste...
But now, on this fated day I look into your eyes, though they are glazed with confidence I see beyond into your mind. It’s all I need to escape.
But, oh how it hurts, it tears me apart, all the carefully stitched fabric of many cumulated years, all suddenly torn and thrown into an angry fire.
The truth burns.
I always run, sometimes until my head rings with the realization that I may never escape. That seemingly safe blanket of reassurance always waiting in the shadows, your deceptive love calls to me. It’s the echo of a lilting voice, teasing and taunting, telling me now of my weaknesses. Such a powerful presence.
