Midnight in the Garden of Dreams-Poem
by The Black Rose
All characters are property of Joss Whedon. I have used them without permission like the rebel that I am, and I should be punished. But for now, enjoy my poem.

It was a land where dreams made a lush landscape of good and evil
A seamless mirage that was war and peace
I searched for him, my one true love,
Across the land
"Do you want this?" he asked
"Do you come to have your heart broken?
Do you come to see the things you cannot by the light of day
Do you approach me with love or hate?
Do you wish for the destruction that our chaotic love brings?
Why, my love, why do you come to me? Do you wish to die?"
"No, my love," I said, "I wish for a kiss."
The moonlight shone on his tearstreaked face My wild untamed prince of night
He gave me a thousand, a million kisses
All in that one moment
After dawn had broke
And the dream had disappeared
I felt eternal happiness
In that one moment, we were free
