Illyria hissed, trying to peer around her back.
“Love, you’re going to have to let me do something for that. It’s all red and nasty looking.”
“I am a god,” she said coldly. “Things such as these cannot weigh me down. I am above humans, above these wounds…..”
“Blue, just listen for a moment.” Spike let his hand graze her back just for an instant, and she arched forward in pain. “Exactly. I don’t even have to tell you anything.”
“Is there nothing that can be done?”
“It’s perfectly normal….. So I’ve heard.” He shrugged. “Nothing I’d know about, of course.
“I will not be brought down by this!”
“Nope. All you’ve got to do is just let me put this on it.” He shook a bottle behind her back.
“That will help?”
“I’ve heard. Like I said, it’s not exactly anything I’ve dealt with before.”
She was silent, and he smoothed the aloe vera lotion over her sunburn.
A/N: A stupid little ficlet I felt like writing, influenced by the sore, red spots on my shoulders, no doubt. I don't like the sun. I may expand on it; some kind of futuristic Spike/Illyria thing. Or let stand. But do review.
