At the abandoned house, Buffy was curled against Spike. She was sound asleep, Spike could tell. She had had a rough couple of weeks and now she deserved to get a good night’s sleep.
Buffy began to whimper and Spike rubbed circles in her back to calm her. Suddenly, her eyes flew open as she sat up and screamed.
Spike sat up beside her. “Buffy. It’s okay, Pet,” he whispered. He pulled her back into his arms gently. “What happened?”
“You…you left me,” she whimpered.
“No, I didn’t. I’m right here,” Spike said, clutching her close to him.
“Don’t leave me please,” she begged.
“Never,” Spike promised.
“I’m glad you stayed with me. I needed you so bad,” she said, her breathing back to normal.
“I know,” Spike said, laying her back down on the bed.
“I’m glad it’s you. You’re really important to me and I hope you can see that,” Buffy said, running her hand over his cheekbones.
Spike looked into her eyes and tentatively touched his lips to hers. She licked his lips seeking entrance. She got no argument. Spike kept his hands on her waist and she carefully pushed him down with out breaking their kiss.
When Spike pulled away a little, so she could breath she looked into his eyes tenderly. “I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you, too, Buffy,” Spike whispered, with shining eyes.
Buffy smiled and they kissed again. Buffy allowed Spike to do what they had been yearning for and they made love for a first time.
