Disclaimer: Usual stuff. Buffy isn't mine, she belongs to the almighty genius, Joss, as well as Mutant Enemy and WB Networks. Scully, Mulder, again, not mine, they belong to the almighty Surfer Dude genius, Chris Carter, as well as Ten Thirteen and Twentieth Century Fox. Only this story is mine, and not getting anything from it, other than letting my imagination run loose for a bit. :) But nada dinero, so no suing! I got this story after thinking about Buffy's possible career choice. She's already leaning toward law enforcement, and with her recent high SAT scores (200 pts. higher than mine, boy, I'm envious!), she could go even further. So, what to do? How about the FBI? And where else but the X-Files division! Takes place about ten years in the future. No Buffy spoilers. X-Files 6th season spoilers, though, part of it is just possible speculation. Enjoy!

"Excuse me? I'm here to speak with Assistant Director Mulder? I have an appointment."
The receptionist glanced up, and gave the young woman an onceover. He r hair was blond with brown streaks, and her eyes were green. Her frame suggested someone who was very familiar with a gym; it was muscular, but not to extreme, bodybuilder style. She was dressed in, for her, conservative attire. A dark suit with low heels, and the s kirt was at mid-knee length. He glanced at her nametag. "Special Agent Summers" it read.
"Ah, yes. You must be the trainee. Please have a seat, I'll let her know you're here."
"Thank you," she nodded, and sat down. She took in her surroundings. The area was tastefully, but rather small. Despite the steller work its founding agents had garnered for its divison, the X-Files continue d to be a rather laughable divison, as compared to the rest of the FBI . Which considering the typical subject matter of its cases, perhaps it's not all that surprising. When she had acquired her FBI training at Quantico, she was at first surprised to hear of such a division existed. And the fact, that its cases consisted oftentimes of circumstances that were right up her alley of expertise, was especially intriguing. As soon as she found out about it, she sought to learn all she could of the X-Files, feeling that she could be an asset to it with her unusual background. Being a Slayer gave one an interesting perspective on matters of the occult, and supernatural.
"Ma'am? You can go ahead in now." The receptionist informed her. She thanked her, and walked in. The Director's office was again, decorated well, but woefully small, compared to other Directors' offices. As for the Director herself, she was a woman that was well into her forties, with bright red hair that was slowly graying at the temples.
"Good afternoon, Agent Summers. Please sit down." She gestured to a chair in front of her. Buffy sat down, and smoothed her skirt, which had rode up a little in the movement. She studied the Director a little more closely. Her eyes were blue, and they suggested that she had seen much in her time. Buffy had heard some of the stories about her. The number of times she had been abducted, her battle with cancer, and her overseeing her then-partner and now, husband, through his nervous breakdown after they had been taken off the X-Files. It had been only after the accident with the newer agents Fowley, and Spender, that they allowed the original agents to return to the division. Or agent, on account of Agent Mulder's early retirement. Assistant Director Dana Scully Mulder had been placed in charge of the division since she had been, compartively speaking, more level-headed of the pair, and so far, was doing a reasonable job with managing. Right now, she was studying of the record of the newest addition.
"Well, I must say, Agent Summers, your record is well, unusual. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stanford, despite several incidents of violent behavior. And your previous fieldwork with the Criminal Investigative Division is... odd. I hear they were happy to learn of your transfer. It seems that strange circumstances follow you around. " Director Mulder peered briefly at her over the report, her eyebrows raised.
Buffy squirmed a little in her seat, "...Yes, ma'am. What can I say? I'm a magnet for weird things," she joked with a nervous smile. The Director just blinked at her, and her smile quickly faded. Buffy knew exactly the real reason she had continued having odd situations follow her around during her casework. Being a Slayer means, that if you don't go to the vampires and demons, they come to you. The other agents had started viewing her as a bit of jinx.
"However, your work has been quite exemplary, regardless. Though, your headstrong attitude is not forgivable." the Director commented sternly, but then her face softened a bit. "I have to admit, you remind me of Fox in some ways. I sincerely hope your obsessions don't overcome you, too." Her eyes held a pained look.
She blinked in surprise, "Obsessions? None that I know of. Oh, except, maybe an obsession with working hard."
Dana's mouth twisted in a rueful grin, "Save the BS for your field reports." She then gave the reccords a quick look again. She then straightened the papers inside the folder, and stood up. "Well then, welcome to the team."
She jumped out of her seat, "Really? Thank you, ma'am." She excitedly shook the Director's hand.
Director Mulder smiled, "You may not so exuberant once you realize what your job will really entail. But I admire your enthusiam."
"Well, to be honest, I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the supernatural and the occult studies." In the back of her mind, she was a little surprised at the Gilesspeak, but just chalked it up to those semesters of Advanced English at Stanford. Some of it was bound to rub off.
Her eyebrows arched in response, "I've noticed. The town you're from, Sunnydale, seems to be a reputable hotbed of demonic activity."
"Correct. In fact, didn't you and Agent Mulder once visit there?" Agent Summers recalled suddenly. They never mentioned what exactly their division was, so till she joined the Bureau, she knew nothing about it.
She nodded, "Yes, we did. I thought your name sounded familiar." She smiled again, "Well, it looks like we have a Slayer for an agent."
"Uh, that part will be downplayed, I hope?"
"Of course. Even if that's one of the reasons we asked for your transfer." she smiled mysteriously.
Agent Summers looked at her in surprise, "That was?"
"Certainly. With credentials like that, this division seems tailor-made for you. So, then welcome aboard. Meet me here tomorrow morning at 9:00. We've just recieved info on a new case which I think will be perfect for you."
Agent Summers nodded, thanked her again, and left the office to prepare for her new assignment.

Author's Note: The end. (For now) This may be a possible series, but not sure yet. If you want it continued, let me know! I'm open to suggestions. Comments, flames (but keep them low-key please!), send 'em along. A quick note: About the quote that Buffy made on Mulder and Scully once visiting Sunnydale, that popped in. After all, a place like that, how can that not be an X-File? Probably go further on that in a much later story. Bye for now, and thanks for reading!
