The world was completely still except for the soft warm breeze. The setting sun made the beach glow a golden orange. The clear sea water was causing a calming swishing sound against the beach. She stood there watching the sunset when she felt a strong pair of arms wrap around her waist and nuzzle her neck. She felt his mouth come close to her about to whisper.
"Your going to be late for school! Wake up!"
Buffy jolted upright in her bed to see her mother standing in her doorway.
"Hurry up and get ready. Your going to be late," Joyce ordered before walking down to the kitchen.
"Wouldn't want that," Buffy grumbled while rubbing at her eyes.

In record time Buffy had gotten ready and was already at school with time to spare. She began a search for her friends, but didn't have to look far to find Xander already in trouble with a group of jocks. Buffy noticed Willow not too far away talking with Oz.
"Oh hey Buffy! Didn't see ya there for a second." Willow greeted.
"Hey. Yeah I overslept." Buffy responded. She glanced over to where Xander was gathering his things off the ground while the groups of jocks walked away. "Xander already getting back into his schedule?"
"That's our Xander," Willow smiled.
"Hey Buffy," Xander greeted and threw his arm over Buffy's shoulder. "Didn't think you were gonna make it in time for first period."
"Yeah me too. I gotta go by the office though and pick up my schedule. See ya at break."

Right after exiting the main office with her schedule she saw her boyfriend Riley. He had just gotten back from his vacation in time for the first day of school.
"Hey you," Buffy greeted.
Riley returned her greeting by wrapping her in his arms for a hug. Buffy just smiled and rested her head on his chest. "Guess that means you missed me?"
"Sure did Buff."
She glanced down the hall and her smile faded. It couldn't be. Could it?
