I'm sort of partial to novelist Robert Musil's definition: "The soul is that which runs away and hides when someone starts talking about algebra."
I love how this interweaves with "Man with a thousand faces". It's funny; for all the fics of yours I've read, I don't think I've ever read the tiniest detail that didn't seem completely and deeply thought through. This is profound and funny ("a gaggle of quacks", indeed) at the same time. |

Damn, this is good stuff. I'm completely jealous. For as much time the show spent dealing with souls, you think they would have addresses Dawn's. But their missed oppertunity is awesomely picked up by you. I always loved how on Buffy and Angel, stuff always stood for other stuff. There was this subtext and analogies for stuff everybody deals with. And this is definitely right there with that. Most normal ppl wonder about the concept of a soul and the hereafter. This is GREAT!!!
Author's Response: Thanks, man. It's all about the need / desire of every human being, all wrapped up in a metaphysical package. Glad you like it! |

This story is very intresting. while most fanfics are for fun (and, I'm not saying this ones not fun) this one is very philosophical, and, even Spiritual. I give you cretit for takeing the chance, and just for the record, the guy that said kids go to hell was a quake.
Author's Response: I'm glad someone finally commented on the quack. It certainly seems to me that with all those dusty old volumes in the Magic Box, some of them would end up being written by nutty guys with depressing viewpoints. Thanks for the reviews!! I always appreciate them! |

Wow.That was weird.I'm confused.Did Dawn pass out or did she die?I liked the chapter though.I agree with Willow, spiders are scary.
Author's Response: Oh, no: she was dead. Flatline, non responsive to stimuli, legaly dead. It just kicks off the dilemma for her, and yes, spiders are nasty. |

| Cool story so far. Dawn was annoying and underused on the show. You're taking her to deep places they never went on the show. |

Great chapter! You did a great job setting up a metaphysical dilemma for Dawn. While she was a bit of a brat on the show, her current predicament with regard to her soul is enough to make her a very complex, intriguing, and adult character. In fact, she’s dealing with an issue more philosophical than any other character on the show has: Am I real? Where did I come from? And what happens to me when I die? Science fiction is a genre perfectly designed to disguise common issues and problems as being supernatural. However, Dawn’s questions are the same that any sentient being has. Where did I come from? And what will become of me when I die? This was a brilliant concept and your writing has done it justice. I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
Author's Response: Thank you, very much. I am glad the questions were evident, I was disappointed by the way Dawn was portrayed in the sixth season and wanted to add some complexity to her position. |

Once again, brilliant. I think you've captured each of the characters perfectly. Especially Xander :)
Superb.
Author's Response: Thanks, Xander is quite the bag of fun. I am hoping to work Anya into an intermission, considering this thing is turning into a novel. |
