good chapter. it's nice that Andrew was actually a bit useful.

poor willow, never gets cut a break! good chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. She'd probably have better luck seducing the Pope, at this rate.

Nice Python reference - you even weaved in the plot of that episode, with the acosting the wrong man and so on. And Willow's cunning plan is foiled again... (As for my idea of ending it, it probably wasn't a good idea. It included the word "orgy". Which, well... nah.)

Author's Response: Thanks. I just watched that episode on DVD on Sunday. I've already done an orgy. I don't want to get repetitive. I'd have to go much bigger than the previous one - and include the Pope.

Author's Response: When I say that I've done an orgy, I mean that I wrote one, not participated in one. My sex life isn't that adventurous.

So I was trying to eat an apple while reading this--bad idea. Here's me laughing, and then inevitably choking...I could've died. I hope you're ashamed of yourself, and never write anything at all amusing ever again. Just so you know, I'm joking...or am I?

Author's Response: Dear Miss Edith:

I was so moved to tears by the sorrowful tale of your plight and, as a result of your unfortunate near-fatal accident as a result of my negligence, it is my sombre duty to announce that I will now be thoughtfully restricting any writing undertaken by myself to dour, serious, morose, disheartening tedium.

Yours respectfully,

Alex Wert

oh god, can't wait to find out how this airplane ride is going to go. good chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks. Judging by what I've written so far, it's not going to go well. Then again, you already knew that, didn't you.

Oh man, gone for a week and BAM! Still awesome, still funny, still waiting for more updates! Keep it up! Xander and Andrew... huh. That'd be funny and interesting. Andrew and Willow should make a club.

Author's Response: More updates always coming. This fic is spawning some awful pairing ideas: Xander/Andrew, Willow/The Pope...

Dammit, I'm going to write that.

Now I'm getting images of Faith in a nurse costume, uh, taking care of Xander. Possibly with ice cream involved. Perverted sick horny bastards unite! And on that theme, is there anyone in this gang who is NOT harboring a secret crush on someone else? Hmmm, I just thought of a way to end to the story...

Poor Andrew, though. Maybe he and the pope should (deleted by site admin; joke is old, drop it.)

Author's Response: I think you may have passed me on the perverted sick horny bastards rating scale by a few points. But everyone is always harboring a secret crush on someone else. Just a matter of how secret. For instance, the Pope is - nah, I shouldn't give away that secret until it comes up in the story. If you have a way to end the story, why don't you tell me, because I don't have a clue. There's some plot coming up, but as far as resolution goes, I'm stumped.

"Hey man, if she only likes other lesbians then all we gotta do is become lesbians too." "Hey, yeah!" "Hey guys, you know what? My grandma's Dutch-Irish, and my grandpa was lesbian. That makes me quarter lesbian." Good thing for everyone Cartman wasn't there spouting off about Jews... I mean, that bar sounds nice, I'd hate for Willow to go dark and turn it into another blob of plastic.

Author's Response: Man, that was going through my head the entire time I was writing this. It really stunts the creative process when all you can think of is Cartman bitching about various things.

Great Andrew voice. And the idea of Buffy and Willow IS awe-inspiring - OK, not quite as much as Willow, Faith and Xander, but somewhat more so than Willow and Benedict XVI. Really starting to feel bad for the Romans here; before Willow's done they'll all have to emigrate from the smoking crater that used to be the city of the seven hills.

Author's Response: I thought the idea of Buffy and Willow was awe-inspiring too, but this is Andrew and it wouldn't be awe-inspiring for him unless it had Spike. Though... I think popesex would be awe-inspiring, at least the novelty of it. Especially if it was with an adult woman. I think I'll shut up now before I get excommunicated.

Don't worry about the Romans. They've gone through plenty of firey invasions and are relatively okay.

LOL brilliant!

Author's Response: Thanks. I please to aim.

So close yet so far... Poor Willow...

Author's Response: She's a trooper, that Willow, and she's never going to give up - until I run out of ideas. I guarantee a few more tales of hijinks and mayhem to come.

I have never wanted to be Xander so much, in my life! Screw the one-eye-demon-magnet-thing, it would be worth it.

Author's Response: Hey Axel! Beer Good's plagiarizing your review! Complete with comma overuse, too!

...and suddenly I almost get the urge to write some Willow/Pope smut... Oh, and Xander's "most of them don't try to do me first" was excellent. Hey, maybe DarkWillow stands a better chance with Buffy? Beat her up a few times, kill someone near to her, and Buffy will come crawling.

Oh, and thanks for the shout-out! "The Gathering Storm"... whenever the Pythons spoofed a TV show, they'd have a caption that read "Part 7: The Gathering Storm" or some such. Even if it was a nature show about penguins. (A couple of times they'd use "A Room In Polonius' House" for a chapter title instead.)

Author's Response: I'd like to see you try to do Pope/Willow smut. On second thought, I'd rather not read that.

Violence solves everything.

Next time I'm at my Dad's I'll have to dig out the Python DVDs and take a refresher. I should be able to remember this sort of thing. Python frequently had penguins on the television.

Poor Willow. You're never going to get Buffy. She only likes pepole that hurt her. She's weird that way.

Author's Response: Y'know, I'm not trying to evoke sympathy with this one. But you won't be saying 'poor Willow' after next chapter. You'll see (hopefully tomorrow, Thursday the latest). Although you may say 'poor Willow' again in subsequent chapters.

Beer Good 07/16/06 - 05:37PM 6: She (Don't) Got Game Signed
Here I go away for a few days and what do I find? Updates! Great ones! C'mon, Willow, you can do better than that. If Riley (not to mention Freddie Prinze Jr) can get Buffy, ANYONE can.

On another note, I'm deeply ashamed as a Python fan that I never thought to name a chapter "The Gathering Storm". Well done.

Author's Response: You're shocked that you find updates? What about me? I don't think I've ever updated (or even written) as often before. I usually go months without doing anything.

After all these years I still can't accept the whole Freddie Prinze Jr thing. Maybe he's a really great guy in real life, but from what I can tell he's just a wiener with marginal acting ability.

What does "The Gathering Storm" have to do with Python? Despite my dad having the DVD set it's been a while since I've watched. "The Gathering Storm" is how Churchill referred to the preamble to WW2. I used it because I have a big build up moving toward unmitigated disaster and distruction.
